Do we have the dreaded 'quarterback controversy'?

If it's beau next week, couple thoughts: gotta clean it up, a lot of those read handoffs were.....eventful. he needs to be more decisive and take care of the ball. AK is going to have to come out prepared to throw with Beau, even deep. Remember what OSU did to trace and Barkley with the RPO stuff a few years ago. They'll put 8 in the box and have someone charged with hitting Beau on every play. Gonna have to loosen the defense up, are our WR ready for it? Is Beau?

Do we have the dreaded 'quarterback controversy'?

He wasn't asked to run everything last night. We kept things basic for him and he did a phenomenal job with that. The pass to Clifford for 23 yards was a great throw. The other two tight windows throws were bad reads with is why you didn't see another RPO after the ball to Wallace.
Beau was great but you and others desperately want to oversell what he did. He did a great job doing what he asked to do. He did not run the whole show. He ran a limited version of our offense. Maybe next week when he gets a week to practice we'll give him more but AK kept it simple. That's a sign of a great OC. He set him up to succeed.

He. Ran. The. Whole. Show. The show was on the field. The game was on the line. Maybe the season was on the line. Beau delivered.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the "bad reads" bullshit. He made some outstanding throws. The team rallied around him. He played a great game after being thrust into a high-pressure situation on the road and behind in the score. It's hard to "oversell" a performance like that.

Thoughts on Allar injury?

Thinking best case scenario is sprained MCL and out 2 weeks?

Can we beat Huskies without Allar?

The medical staff evaluated him at halftime and CJF said he was cleared to play 2nd Half (in fact, CJF stated in his post-game presser that he expected him to start the 2nd Half based on halftime medical evaluation and discussions - said he was taken by surprise when Allar took himself out of the game when he reported to CJF that he was experiencing to much pain and didn't feel like he could shift his weight properly during pre 2nd Half warmups).

Who’s our 3rd string QB?

(Please don’t respond Warren.)
Depth chart wise, it's Grunk. With AK, it could be some combination of Warren in the Wildcat.

No crutches or ice for Allar. I didn't detect a limp when they showed him at the end of the game but it was hard to tell. Good sign, right? Hopefully he can play next week but I don't want him out there gimpy and ineffective. OSU will smell blood.

PRIBULA!!!!

Good luck. 75% of the board complains about him and then continues to reply to his comments. I feel sorry for him but he's a sociopath with a two digit IQ and should be ignored until he goes away.
Feel sorry for yourself if you believe that
I get along just fine with those that know the sport and watch it nationally--it's just the "I love Penn State and hate what college football is" people that have an issue with me.

PRIBULA!!!!

It's not enough to just ignore Lando, now I have to start ignoring all of the people who feel the need to respond to the bozo

Washington is simply awful when they have to come east to play.

Yeah and others believe what they are saying is true also - and it is an opinion so repeating your opinion over and over means nothing - if anything most experts which you are a million miles from being one say travel DOES effect teams so maybe you should rest your one functioning brain cell for a while.
When your data supports that let me know
Oregon has two games coming up against teams they should beat--we'll see how much travel hurts a good team

Washington is simply awful when they have to come east to play.

I believe what I'm saying because it's true--you can't answer it because you know you're wrong
UCLA lost at Penn State then beat Rutgers. They're 1-4 in conference with the only win traveling across the country (by the way 0-5 was wrong)
Washington lost at Indiana, Iowa and Rutgers. They should have beat Iowa and Rutgers but couldn't finish drives--just like when they lost at home to Wazzu
USC is mirroring what they did last year
What do you think I'm "repeating" that isn't accurate. It's a small sample size involving bad teams
Oregon went to Purdue and won. When they leave Michigan and Wisconsin with wins I'll guess that will prove you wrong
It's always about talent and coaching--not travel.

Ok, Nastradamous. Anyone who disagrees with you lacks common sense?
Anyone that think Beau is better than Drew lacks common sense
If you disagree and think we're good enough with Beau to beat Ohio State next week that's a fine disagreement and I hope you're right
But notice how you took this approach because I was right about us limiting the offense to accommodate him? Great OC--great job by Beaul--but very limited and as safe as possible

I don't--seems like a really good kid
See what we did yesterday--we limited the offense for him. He executed great outside of the RPO which we had to stop because AK knew it would lead to a turnover.
Beau played great--he doesn't have the skillset to beat Ohio State. Allar might not even beat Ohio State but we all agree Allar >>>> Beau, right? Common sense here please

Will Howard ALREADY running his pie hole with bulletin board material

Really? I find that hard to believe. He was very good for them; won a lot of games too. They didn’t want him for a 5th year but Ohio State did?
Howard was going to have to compete with Avery Johnson so he left--which is what most returning QBs will do in 2024 if they're not guaranteed starting time
Howard wasn't Ohio State's first choice--they needed a veteran and he was the best they could get in the portal. They wanted him over McCord. It's worked so far.

PRIBULA!!!!

Let's hope he's not...
This is true for almost every team
Oregon isn't contenders without Gabrile. Miami isn't without Ward. Ohio State isn't without Howard. Clemson isn't without Cade. Iowa State isn't without Becht. K-State isn't without Johnson. Bama isn't without Milroe or maybe aren't even with him. ND isn't without Leonard. Add BYU, Pitt, Indiana, LSU, Tennessee and most others if you consider them contenders as of today.

The only teams that may have a shot without their starters are Texas and A&M.
Hey look at you - you know how to google - you win a cookie.

What a stupid post as though Pribula is incapable of anything but dumb downed QB play. You have a personal issue with him.

If Beau has to play next week we lose--if I'm wrong I'll own it but the goal this year isn't to beat mid-level teams like Wisconsin it's to beat Ohio State and tonight hurt our chances if Drew can't go
But happy with how Beau played--we simplified things for him thankfully
