Upset Alert

IMHO, the only way PSU loses this game is if they choke. While Minny has a fairly talented, disciplined and physical team there are not as talented as PSU up and down the line. We've been good at taking care of the ball and that needs to continue. Weather should be close to 40 degrees with a mild wind.

It is possible that PSU feels the pressure and doesn't perform well. Team leadership needs to lead. Allar, Warren, Singleton and Allen on offense. Carter, The Dentist, Reed, and Wheatly on D.
Hard to imagine that they would take Minnesota away for granted but anything can happen in college football.

NLWC Embarrassment of Riches

I just received the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club email promoting their March 2 elementary and junior high tournament in Rec Hall. There is also an associated clinic in the wrestling room.

The reason for the thread title is the list of potential clinicians:

*NLWC Coaches and Wrestlers and probable clinicians include the following World & Olympic Medalists and NCAA Champions:
  • 4X NCAA Champion, Hodge Trophy Winner, & Olympic Bronze Medalist Aaron Brooks
  • NCAA Champion Anthony Cassar
  • Olympic RTC Coach & 2X NCAA All-American Jordan Conaway
  • 4X NCAA Champion, 4X World Champion, and 2X Olympic Bronze Medalist Kyle Dake
  • NCAA Champion & World Silver Medalist Franklin Gomez
  • Olympic RTC Coach, World Military Champion, & 3X NCAA All-American Morgan McIntosh
  • Olympic RTC Coach, NCAA All-American, & Pan American Champion Mark McKnight
  • 3X NCAA Champion, Hodge Trophy Winner, & U23 World Gold Medalist Bo Nickal
  • Olympic RTC Coach, 3X NCAA Champion, 2X Hodge Trophy Winner, & World Gold Medalist Zain Retherford
  • Pan American Champion Josh Rodriguez
  • 3X NCAA Champion, 3X World Champion, 2X World Silver Medalist, 2X World Bronze Medalist, Olympic Gold Medalist, Olympic Silver Medalist Kyle Snyder
  • Head Olympic RTC Coach, 2X NCAA Champion, World Bronze Medalist, & Olympic Gold Medalist Jake Varner

It just isn't a fair fight.

UFC in State College?

I believe I posted this in another thread somewhere. I wanted to take my son to UFC309 at MSG. Seats started at around $800 on the ticket sites. What I considered to be decent seats were around $1800+. Those seats you see on TV where you usually see other fighters and celebrities sitting in I noticed were $3000/4000 and up.
I've never priced any other fights before this one and I also quit checking so I don't if those prices drop when you get closer to the event. If those price are the average I don't see them selling out the BJC in State College in my opinion.
I'd love to be wrong on this.

How about a Steelers / Brownies thread.....

It probably won't matter to you but let me provide some context to my perspective.

Suppose we teleport Garrett back to OSU and he pulls the same stunt with the helmet and the racist accusations to Beau or Jaxon Smolik?

Would you be speaking similarly of Garrett if my hypothetical has actually occurred? And would your attitude be the same towards our QB's as it is to Rudolph?

From all accounts, Mason was a very good teammate as is a very good person. And people like him I believe are worthy of defending.

WRT the actual game, it appeared like the Steelers were trying to deploy Fields the way PSU utilizes BP. But it did not fool the Browns and actually hurt the continuity of the Steelers offense.

Garrett played a great 1st half and a rivalry game in inclement weather produced an entertaining contest that the Steelers under Mike T have been able to figure some way to not win.
Fair enough. But Garrett has been a great guy and player since he was drafted so the event with Rudolph is really out of context and character. Perhaps Garrett thought he heard the slur. Perhaps someone other than Rudolf said it. Perhaps Rudolf said something similar but not the "n" word.

The only other thing that Garrett ever had against him was that he has several speeding tickets and once totaled a Porche on a back road when he was exceeding the speed limit on a slippery, newly-wet road. he is involved and very vocal with several local and international charities. His teammates love him.
