Tam Tom just gave Beau some bulletin board material. Can’t wait till Beau proves him wrong and shoves it up his ass. Basically says Beau a tough kid but just not as “skilled.” Whether he believes that or not, kind of crappy thing to say.

Right now, Jesse just has more skill. Bartlett is a great competitor and wrestler, but Jesse has that as well, and Jesse’s skill is better in more positions. Jesse’s a fitness freak and he’s a gladiator. Our advantage right now comes down to the skill level, and we think Jesse has that over Beau. I'm taking nothing away from him. The kid is a beast. Our advantage right now is just skill level. Jesse can score from a lot of positions, and he’s just hard to wrestle. He’s got good defense, he can go to the left leg, the other leg, he can slow you down. He’s just so tough in all positions.”

Tommy's problem is he thinks what you do in the weight room is more important than what you do in the wrestling room.

Meh. I don't see what he said as particularly incendiary. He is respectful to Beau and just talking up his own guy, who is, in fact, the defending NCAA champ. Plus, he's not wrong, either, based on the last year's worth of matchups. He's not saying Beau isn't skilled, just that he's not quite "as skilled" as Mendez, which I can't really argue. Mendez is the best there is right now (we'll see what Alirez and/or Beau can do to knock him off his perch as the season goes on...).
No one's saying what he said is or isn't true.. we all have opinions. As an opposing coach, saying that is super disrespectful and as Petch says, just put's more pressure on his guy. Have you ever coached?

I certainly have for many years..I would never make those comments about an opposing player in public. Yeah, do I tell my inner circle what I think/feel..of course..but you don't go out of your way to make a comment of disrespect.

What's his excuse going to be when Beau beats his kid next time.."welp the less skilled kid won, had a little more grit that time, but skillwise he's just not there"

State College McDonalds closed?

I don't understand this obsession with Uber eats and other delivery services. You take a $9 McD meal and make it $15. And walking to the McD's and eating there is a great way to get out, exercise and have a social moment.

It is truly crazy.
paying another $6 to add on a $100,000+ student loan may seem inconsequential at the time. The days of working class kids attending PSU ended 40 years ago.

Welp...similar to when Brands labeled Spencer as the "best of all time" 2 months before he got stuck by Ramos, it just puts unnecessary pressure on a kid. Why would a coach do that?

Hard to imagine that they would take Minnesota away for granted but anything can happen in college football.
I am more concerned with them playing too tight. Minny has nothing to lose and it is senior night. They can take all the chances and if they lose by 40, who cares?

If Minny plays their A game, all PSU has to do is play their B game. But if PSU turns the ball over, has 50+ yards in penalties along with a couple of drops by the WRs anything can happen. It is important to stabilize early and nullify the senior night energy.

I get why national media is talking about an upset because Franklin has quite a history of losing games like this one.

But this is a more fundamentally sound PSU team than in the past. It's tough and deep at the line of scrimmage and smart in the offensive and defensive backfield. This team can win an ugly, physical field position game if it has to. Leadership is good. If things go wrong early, nobody panics. And lately the team has been playing better in the 1st half so hopefully they won't dig themselves a hole.

Also, this Minnesota team is good, maybe top 25 caliber, but they're nothing like the 2019 Minnesota team which went 11-2 and finished ranked 10th. Similar type of team to Wisconsin this year -- good secondary, dink and dunk passing game. Big O-line, if they can run between the tackles they could be tough but if have to try to get outside it's going to be tough with PSU's speed.

Dems Have Lost the Plot in the View of Working-Class Voters

Dudes in dresses are far more important than the working class.

Democrats have lost two of the last three presidential elections to Donald J. Trump. Donald Trump! And they now face a governing trifecta of House, Senate, and presidential control by their (semi-fascist?) opponents.

Clearly, something has gone dreadfully wrong. A clue can be found in the shocking decline of nonwhite working-class (non-college) support for Democrats in this election. Harris carried nonwhite working-class voters by a mere 32 points, a 16-point decline from Biden’s 48-point margin in 2020. (Obama carried them by 67 points in 2012!) This latest decline swept across both black and Latino working-class voters.

What on earth is going on? Whatever happened to Democrats’ identity as the party of the working class? After all, it has been Democrats’ seemingly unchallenged hold over the nonwhite working class that has made that identity even semi-plausible, as white working-class voters have slipped farther and farther away from the party. But now that’s gone too.

IMHO, the only way PSU loses this game is if they choke. While Minny has a fairly talented, disciplined and physical team there are not as talented as PSU up and down the line. We've been good at taking care of the ball and that needs to continue. Weather should be close to 40 degrees with a mild wind.

It is possible that PSU feels the pressure and doesn't perform well. Team leadership needs to lead. Allar, Warren, Singleton and Allen on offense. Carter, The Dentist, Reed, and Wheatly on D.
