Is Donald Trump actually the ‘return to normal’ candidate?

That's how bad Biden / Harris are..............

Many in the Beltway view Donald Trump as the personification of dire political disruption. A recent Atlantic cover even painted the former president in the foreboding hues of a Stephen King novel. However, a series of recent polls suggest that many swing voters may see something else entirely in Trump: the potential for normalcy.

While Joe Biden ran on a “return to normal” message in 2020, chaos has been the leitmotif of his administration. The border crisis has pushed the asylum system and many working-class communities to breaking point. While the shortages of the past have abated, inflation has ravaged family cheque books. The frenzied withdrawal from Afghanistan was a prelude to war returning to Europe and the Middle East, and foreign policy tensions have continued to escalate.

This record has cast a shadow over the presidential race between Trump and Kamala Harris. New polling of battleground-state voters from the Wall Street Journal gives Trump an edge over Harris on immigration and the economy, as might be expected. But it also found that voters favoured him on foreign affairs, too. They thought he would be better able to respond to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by 11 points (50%-39%). They gave him an even greater advantage on the Israel-Hamas war, by 48% to 33%. These voters may believe that Trump’s “don’t poke the eagle” brand of Jacksonian foreign policy kept many international rivals on their toes. As president, he didn’t invoke high ideals about “liberal democracy” but instead struck hard and fast at geopolitical foes, such as the Islamic State.

Why Wisconsin terrifies me (trap game)

The afterglow of Saturday is finally fading a bit, and like most of you, I'm analyzing our chances after the bye and beyond. And history tells us to be afraid of PSU's performance in this very position.

2017--Lose heartbreaker in Columbus. Hardly drop in the polls, but we go to a less talented #24 MSU team the next week, endure an ungodly storm delay, and fritter the game away. Most talented Franklin team wasted.

2018--Lose heartbreaker to OSU in Happy Valley. Get a bye. Come out flat after a bye week against unranked MSU team and lose again. No more top 10 ranking that season for us...

2019--8-0 and ranked #3 in the country. Coming off bye week, we travel to #17 Minnesota and lay an egg.

2021--start a solid 5-0 and ranked #4. Travel to #3 Iowa and lose a heartbreaker. Bye week...and come home and lose the worst game in PSU history, 9OT against a terrible Illinois team.

Three AWFUL performances that wasted our potential for the season coming right after a bye week...and all four seasons saw us lose to teams we should have beaten. I hope Franklin has learned from these trials and is determined to keep his players sharp physically and mentally because this road game to Wisconsin is by far our biggest TRAP game of the season
Agree with much of what you said with a couple caveats: some of those post bye games had special circumstances. We’re easily ahead in both Iowa and Sparty. Injuries cost us the Iowa game and God brought in a massive T storm that really hurt us with Sparty.

And Illinois worst game ever? Don’t have words for that ……. Just 6-4!

And I would place the Temple game below Illinois,

But 100%….. this could be a very tough game. One big plus is our team plays well under the lights and the national spotlight.

Recruiting other team's commits

This is a good analogy. To make it as accurate as possible, should also assume that you, the dumped, were also always looking for a better option. As was the woman. As was (and still is) the man she left you for.

There are no innocent lambs in the recruiting game being victimized, because everyone’s a wolf.
4 years of school and a life commitment to one person, that in no way is a good comparison.

For this example, I would say good see yeah! Better now than 10 years down the road.

The more I think about it the worse the analogy really is....

Why a Former Democrat Stumped for Trump in Coachella

Former democrat = smart person

A woke party, for mass migration and against school choice, pushed Gloria Romero rightward.

“The Democratic Party has taken all of us—and especially we Latinos and Latinas—for granted,” Ms. Romero said on stage. “Inflation, lawlessness, and an open border, highest unemployment rate—second in the nation—groceries, gas, you name it. And as a Latina, they will never take away my gas stove because you cannot toast a tortilla on an electric range.”

Is the grass always greener? Franklin haters would think so

I will say it again, winning football games is hard. Really hard. And James Franklin has won a lot of them. Maybe there is a better coach out there for PSU if we get rid of him but I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen. Tons of blue blood programs end up in the coaching carousel for a decade or more because they believe the answer to their problems lies in another head coach.

Nebraska is a great example. Nebraska hasn't had a coach even come close to Be Pelini who was 67-27 (.713 win percentage) while at Nebraska who coached his last game for them in 2014.

Mike Riley: 19-19
Scott Frost: 16-31
Mickey Joseph: 3-6
Matt Rhule: 10-8 (the verdict is still out on Rhule).

If Matt Rhule can turn the program around it will have taken a decade for the Cornhuskers to be competitive again and multiple head coaches. Do we want to go through a stretch like Nebraska has gone through? I don't and I am not positive if we bring in someone else that this won't be us. It is certainly a risk.
