Biggest plusses to the vote totals

1. abortion - It seems the voters were able to separate the statewide referendums from the vote for Pres. the more that happens the better.
2. Young people rally for Trump. They didn't buy the BS. Great for the future
3. Latino participation way up. in 10-15 years will be the largest voting block. This was going to be the D's key to the future. Not so fast my friend!!!
If Trump can deliver this could be a seismic voter realignment for years

Trump cancels yet ANOTHER campaign appearance.

The poor OLD codger. He's exhausted, and simply not up to the task of either campaigning for or serving as President. He needs to get into an assisted living facility ASAP. Preferably a "memory care" facility so he doesn't end up getting out and wandering the streets all befuddled. Here's the link to the report:

Here's are a few excerpts from the linked report, starting with a list of some of the recent events Trump has cancelled:
  • Trump agreed to appear on CBS’s “60 Minutes” before canceling.
  • He agreed to appear on CNBC before canceling.
  • He reportedly planned to sit down for an interview with the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia before canceling.
  • He was reportedly in conversations for weeks with The Shade Room about a sit-down interview before withdrawing.
  • His campaign said he’d debate Kamala Harris more than once, but he soon after scrapped those plans, too.
  • Trump was supposed to participate in an event in Georgia with the National Rifle Association, but it too was canceled.
Making matters a bit worse, the 78-year-old Republican appeared to be falling asleepmore than once — during some recent events.
[Sleep farting. Just what we need in a President.]

Presumably, Trump could push back against such questions by releasing his medical records, but to date, he’s refused to do so for reasons he has not explained.

A Couple of Thoughts About the 2024 Race Outcome

1. If you look at the remaining races, the Dems are just trying to buy time to see if it is plausible that they can pull another 2020 on a smaller scale to win the House. Doesn't look like they will be able to.

2. Speaking of 2020, it seems more improbable than ever that Biden got 81 million legitimate votes campaigning from his basement.

3. Harris and Walz are both probably VERY pleased that they won't have to remain in the national spotlight. Few people have been so embarrassed and often humiliated on the national scene like those two in the past few months. Some people just aren't cut out for the dog-eat-dog of politics.

4. The DNC's efforts to jerrymander new Congressional seats in Alabama, Louisiana and New York were offset by new GOP districts in North Carolina and gains in Pennsylvania.

5. The old political calculus that the DNC has been using since Lyndon Johnson is finished. Time for plan B.... but, I'm not sure they have one.

6. This was the first "Podcast Election" and 2020 was clearly the last one to be dominated by the legacy media.

7. I predict the DNC is going to start having Primaries again. Actual ones.

FB Recruiting More 2026 Recruiting Updates from the weekend.....

Login to view embedded media Miami, Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia and others are involved but Penn State continues to impress Collier and the message was clear to the 2026 high three-star edge rusher from Philadelphia (Pa.) Neumann-Goretti over the weekend:

The Nittany Lions want him and they won’t stop recruiting him until the answer is yes. Penn State is willing to be patient but the coaches want Collier in its 2026 class.

Login to view embedded media Penn State is the front-runner for the 2026 three-star cornerback from Massillon (Ohio) Washington especially after his weekend visit to Happy Valley.

Clemons loves the culture at Penn State, the family-type atmosphere and his relationship with position coach Terry Smith. There are others involved across the Big Ten with Clemons but the Nittany Lions are on top.

Login to view embedded media What really stood out to Boney during his Penn State visit even though the Nittany Lions lost was how open the coaches were believing in their players while also holding them accountable.

That made a big impression on the 2026 three-star defensive end from Washington (D.C.) St. John’s as Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Washington, Cal and Tennessee have jumped out early in his recruitment.

Login to view embedded media Being at Penn State over the weekend was the best game-day experience Alston has had yet in his recruitment as his interest in the Nittany Lions remains very strong.

The 2026 three-star running back from Painesville (Ohio) Harvey continues to build that relationship with the staff and they want him to visit a few more times before considering a commitment as USC, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Auburn and Florida are also high on his list.

Login to view embedded media Iowa State, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State and Boston College are showing Akih the most love and while all of those programs have not offered yet there is definitely high interest in those five.

The 2026 running back from Delaware (Ohio) Rutherford B. Hayes was at Penn State over the weekend and the word is it was one of the best visits he’s been on so far because of the environment and because the coaches talked a lot about his tape.

Login to view embedded media Penn State is doing everything it can to convince the 2026 four-star offensive guard from Mechanicsburg (Pa) Cumberland Valley to stay home and over the weekend Merrill was definitely impressed by the consistency in their approach, how prepared the Nittany Lions were and how they have a high standard across the board.

Merrill says his recruitment remains 100 percent open but Penn State is definitely a key player along with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, Georgia and Clemson.

Jack Smith's 180 Page Motion is bad news for Cheeto

Cheeto had better hope he can somehow win this election, because he's gonna go to jail if he doesn't.

https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc...-jack-smith-brief-trial-redactions-rcna173649

Jack Smith had to file a motion with Judge Chutkan in order to provide evidence of Cheeto's engaging in "private acts" (as opposed to "official acts") that would not be protected by the "presidential immunity" that the Supreme Court recently created out of whole cloth. The Supreme Court specifically directed that Smith do so.

And no wonder that motion ran to 180 pages, not counting the various exhibits (e.g., grand jury transcripts, transcripts of FBI interviews with witnesses, etc.) that accompany it. There is SO MUCH evidence of criminal wrongdoing that it boggles the mind. No wonder Trump wanted to keep that motion from being released to the public. The problem for Cheeto is that American criminal trials are supposed to be public. (The Sixth Amendment guarantees criminal defendants the right to not only a "speedy trial," but also a "public trial." (Otherwise, you end up with things like the Court of Star Chamber. Sorry Hermy and Captain Brokeback; you'll have to look that one up for yourself.)

The Vice President and her campaign staffers should be looking to make political commercials with excerpts from Jack Smith's motion. Trump Cultists will studiously ignore such evidence (Fingers in ears, chanting "La, La, La, La, La,!"), but it will hopefully have some effect on undecided and moderate voters. Which is completely right and proper. Voters should know the kind of person - i.e., criminal - the GOP is putting up for election to the highest office in the land.

What I am excited about for Trump 47 term

I really am excited about the power of both Musk and Kennedy. While I am hopeful we can make meaningful but realistic adjustments to taxation and social issues, I think we can do some great things...

  • I'd love to see Musk take a run at a long-term, well-funded mass transportation plan. I think something similar to the network of interstates initiated by Eisenhower (after seeing what the Nazis did). If you haven't seen his presentation on self-driving cars from a few weeks ago, do it. Amazing. Just one takeaway, at least 40% of every major city is parking. If self-driving ubers, or whatever company, used public transportation to eliminate commutes, you could make these green spaces or housing. 40%! And it wouldn't take infrastructure like trains or subways. This can be accomplished in 5 years. Of course, you won't eliminate cars but you can begin to make a huge dent so that 20% to 50% of cars commuting are eliminated by 2029.
  • I'd love to see a reigned in but empowered RFK jr. working to hammer the FDA and drug companies. Drugs are out of control. 70% of all TV advertising is now funded by drug companies. Additives in foods need to be reconsidered. And, of course, we need better studies (ones that aren't funded by drug companies who keep a thumb on the scale) to review the pluses and minuses of vaccinations and other prescription drugs.
  • I'd love to see a path to citizenship for illegals who have been in the USA and holding a job while we secure the borders. We then increase the number of qualified immigrants who have credentials in technology, healthcare, math, and engineering. Uneducated immigration levels would be tied to some other metric like birth rates for citizens already in place. So it would go up and down based on birth rates.
  • Improvements to nuclear power while we continue a free market push toward solar in states where that is sustainable. Again, Musk can be a huge asset here.
What else?

What I fear about a Trump 47 term

I am hearing rumors that it may be Trump 48 in that Biden may resign for a day and make Kamala the first female president. Piers Morgan has floated the idea of Trump announcing that he is now identifying as a woman and declaring himself the first female president. That would be a hoot. I'd also love to seem him float the idea of killing the filibuster and increasing the size of the Supreme Court so that he can negotiate stronger laws cementing the filibuster and setting the SCOTUS numbers where they are.

  • No way he can deport that many people in that period of time. I'd be happy if he simply gets really tough on border security and stops illegal immigration in its tracks. Perhaps a negotiated "path to citizenship" for those there for a wall and funding for greatly increased legal immigration with measurable goals and border security
  • Massive tariff increases on day 1. He'll need to feather them in so that markets can adjust. However, I am ok with this happening over the first two years of his administration
  • Doing anything at all with abortion. Just leave it alone and at the state level.
  • Doing too much on tax cuts. Again, there is damage that would be done in doing too much, too fast.
  • Damaging environmental initiatives. I think Musk can really help here with crafting real life solutions to fossil fuels that can be developed and deployed over the next 20 years as we seek to mitigate fossil fuel dependencies. Nuclear could be a big part of that.
