I guess they just see the final score. In my view, we were clearly the better team with Clifford at QB. The defense didn't look elite at all. They will probably go 12-0 then get smoked by whoever wins the Big Ten East.

A few days after man article appeared on how he has so much respect for the PSU program and grew up a PSU fan his team, fans, and especially coaches laughed, made fun of PSU injuries. IMO, Ferentz is a scumbag, and eff him.

obviously the plays that caused injury to SC and PJ were at top of the list, but a few others came into play.

• All the punts inside the 10 yd line with some in the 2-3 yd line area. What are the chances that a punter is going to be able to hit that type of punt so many times. There has to be some pure luck in doing it every time.
• The chop block call, which looked marginal, set off a major shift to field position, as it was followed by IP calls and another punt from end zone.
• TCF missed tackle on a FR WR was very big play. That should have been a short gain.
• missed assignment on the TD pass, although it did not look like the Iowa player scored. My guess is they may have scored off that series, but you never know (remember our 3 TDs called back plus a Pat TD overturned on one series = wound up as FG for us).

Wisconsin's Defense was #3 in the nation in Total Defense going into yesterday's game allowing only 249 yards a game. They shutout Illinois 24-0 and only allowed Illinois 93 offensive yards. Iowa's offense is so pitifully bad - they don't have a chance against Wisconsin's defense. And it's @Wisconsin.

Was it just me or was this guy ecstatic that Iowa won???? He announced the game like he had Iowa and the under and giving 1.5 points. I thought he was gonna have a coranary after the last Iowa pic. BTW....I noticed how he didn't say how stupid it was for the Iowa safety to intercept a ball 20 yards downfield on 4th down!

This was the void coaches wanted to fill in the offseason via the transfer portal, to bring in someone who could push Clifford and who, at the very least, could add experience to a room where there are just three scholarship quarterbacks (one is true freshman Christian Veilleux). Franklin said they had options via the portal but kept searching for the right fit. The staff failed to add anyone. This loss falls on them.

I assume Roberson has been getting meaningful snaps at qb in practice. Practice and mop up assignments have little pressure. It may well be that he lacks the emotional ability to perform in real game pressure. I wish him well in any case. He could not have responded worse than last night however. I give him major props for facing the press. It's a sign of maturity that was lacking in the game. I would not write him off yet. His worst is probably behind him.

Still a lot to play for. Worst thing about losing to Iowa is their fans - which were on display last night for everyone to see. Have to hope Clifford can play the brutal stretch of B1G East games we have left. Allar and Singleton will be huge additions next year.

For perspective, some post game interviews. They seem to have a good healthy perspective (credit to the coaches and team chemistry/culture). Have to say AK and Ellis Brooks really seem like leaders.

If Sean is out for extended time, we have on depth chart Ta'Quan Roberson and Christian Veilleux. at this point why not use Tyler Warren as a QB?

So, just for the sake of discussion, let’s say Clifford can make it back in 3 weeks vs tOSU. With a bye week upcoming, can we beat 2-5 Illinois with Roberson if he gets two weeks of preparation and full-time first string snaps? What do we think?

Guess which one falls the farthest in the pools. Alabama will make the final four. i hate to say it but Ohio State is probably the best team in the country.

From my viewpoint, this game was the one loss we could afford and still make the playoff. 1) We lost to the #3 team in the country away after our QB was taken out of the game. 2&3) Beat OSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa (in the championship game) and we’re in. In other words we still control our destiny. There fixed it for you now go back to your lives.

And please, no one knows the extent of Clifford’s injury so until we do, don’t.

just knew it was a bad omen!

Granted, he had a lot of issues last year, but what realistic alternative did we have going into the season? It was sink or swim with him because it was definitely sink without him. We had little to no experience behind SC and that weakness got exposed yesterday.

You can't make kids portal to us and we can't keep them from leaving. It was tough luck that the coaching staff couldn't land a QB through the portal, but it is what it is. Can only hope SC can make it back or the rest of the season is lost.

1. The running back “room” has been incredibly overrated,

2. The tight end room has been overrated.

3. The OL has been overrated.

4. Sean Clifford may not be an elite quarterback, but he is certainly better than average.

5. Those of us, including me, who thought this looked like one of the least talented teams of the past ten years were wrong. The defense can dominate games with five outstanding players.

6. You live and die by the portal. Without AK and DT the defense has holes. Without at least an average backup quarterback on the roster this team was facing disaster.

7. Iowa had almost everything go their way yesterday. Field position, turnovers, and injuries. It still took them until a few minutes left in the fourth quarter to win. This despite an historically terrible game played by the backup quarterback and poor coaching that led to an incredible number of false starts by the OL.

8. The top teams in the B1G are tOSU, PSU "when Clifford is healthy", Michigan, Iowa, Michigan State in that order. When Clifford can't play PSU is no better than fifth or sixth.

9. If insanity is defined as doing something over and over again and expecting a different result, then the Franklin lovers are insane. A team that is unable to beat rated teams on the road better than PSU is not elite, and by CJF standards that is what we have to be to be successful.

10. Does anyone look at the roster and expect that next year this team will challenge for the Top Ten?

11. Iowa should drop in the ratings, despite beating us.

I suspect that he won't get one- and worse, that he'll be fired as soon as this is out of the public eye- I hope I'm wrong.
