Four guys undefeated at their NCAA weight class in the same weight class prior to the post-season hasn't happened, to my knowledge, in many years. The post-season will be fun to watch...who, among this group will be last-man-standing?

Piccininni 28-0
Mueller 15-0
Rivera 22-1, with only loss at 133 moving up to face Micic
Arujau 23-1, with only loss at 133, and to a fellow Rig Red wrestler Chaz Tucker
Then there's Bresser 22-1, whose only loss is to Rivera in SV

don't make me give away my ncaa picks just yet! You are right - all different conferences too

U must've Lee beating Rivera at Big 10? If not Rivera will get be ahead of Vito
It's sorta dependent on the seeding and who's in what bracket. I'm just thinking how it ends up not yet knowing where Rivera or Vito are seeded. Rivera wins BIGs he could be seeded 1 or 2. I haven't looked deep enough at their records. If the seeding can't allow that order then it changes obviously.

But yes, I do think Rivera beats Lee again.

For some reason I thought your list was your seed order. Now I realized it was your placing order.I think Rivera wins again also

Gotta think Rivera is the 1 if he wins B10s. Will have beaten the defending national champ 2x, plus Bresser, Moisey, Mattin, Foley, Fleetwood. Won CKLV, Midlands, and B10s. Only loss to Micic at 133.

2 Piccininni -- Reno champ, Scuffle champ, B12 champ. Beat Lee (fall), Glory, Foley, Russell, Mackall, Verner, Montoya.

3-5 are a mess, between Arujau, Bresser, and Mueller. None won an in-season tourney, and none of their schedules remotely live up to Rivera or Picc (or for that matter, Lee).

Lee can't be above 6 with 3 losses ... right? Can't really see anyone else seeded higher, either.

Also, I realize this isn't a rule, but if I'm the seeding committee, and Rivera beats Lee at B10s, I'm separating them. Rivera will have earned the right to not face Lee again until the finals.

Only way I see Lee higher then #6 in that scenario is if Glory beats Arujau at Eiwa

The wide open field will certainly bring some unanticipated and additional drama to NCAAs.

Seriously. In a couple of weight classes, when the smoke clears a lot of people will be saying “Wow! (blank) didn’t make the podium??”

A lot of really good wrestlers are gonna go home with no hardware.

This is so true, regardless of year. NCAA's are at the same time predictable (such and such was expected to win), and unpredictable (wow, how'd unseeded Conel take 3rd!!). It's what makes the tournament fun...the unexpected does happen.

And Ronald Perry finished 2nd. No way that happens. Minnesota wins the 2007 team title and returns 90% of their team points for 2008 and yet finishes 10th in 2008. Anything can and does happen at NCAAs.

Such a weird weight for seeding. At first glance, I thought Lee had no chance at a top 4 seed if he loses again at Big Tens, but running the numbers, I'm not as certain.

Rivera and Picc control their own destiny for the top 2 seeds and Seb has the inside track to the 1 with a higher RPI. He also should win the quality wins battle between the two but it is close enough that major upsets could make it tight.

Even if Arujau, Mueller, and Bresser win their conference titles, though, they won't win quality wins or RPI over Lee. None of those guys have H2H or common opponent over Spencer either. They would have winning percentage and conference finish. So, the tie-breaker for seeding purposes will be the coaches ranking. Lee was ahead of all 3 as of Feb 10th. He'll obviously drop after losing to Picc (who was 4th behind Bresser). Keep an eye on whether he goes behind Bresser. If he does, Bresser is likely going to be seeded ahead. Mueller was sitting 5th so he will be on Spencer's heals. Arujau was 8th so I doubt he jumps Spencer unless the Hawkeye drops a match to someone other than Rivera at Big Tens. The order of those 4 in the final CR after conference tournaments will almost certainly determine the 3-6 seeds.

Unless SL never faces him..... not likely, but possible.

At the beginning of the year it was Lee and then everyone else at 125. Shaping up to be a fun weight to watch play out at the tournament now

Agreed what once looked like a runaway is now wide open. 125, 133, 165 are all loaded, there will be fireworks
