14 Goals of Angelo Mangiro at Penn State (incl. honor Joe, reach out to Sue)

Well that just got him uninvited to the homecoming parade.

Maybe Penn State will issue Mangiro a "notice of separation" like um did with gibbons (conveniently after gibbons had exhausted his eligibility).

I know all schools have football players that are intelligent, well spoken, honorable men. I may be naive, but from what I have seen through the years, we have had far more than our fair share. I trace this bounty back to Joe Paterno and his "Grand Experiment". It was his vision that set a standard for others to follow, and it continues at Penn State 50 years after it began. It was a legacy of excellence and we need to do all we can to see it continues, and that the man who started it all has his reputation restored.

Seeing that standard continue would be a great way, in part, to honor Joe.

This is why it is so important that the university honor Joe and that he have a visible place within the university (beyond his name on the library, which is obviously important). The last of Joe's recruits are leaving the university this year. Even though Penn State has a close-knit community of current and former players, the locker room will no longer have guys who knew Joe and what he meant firsthand. The legacy must continue. It is no longer Joe's program, but players should know about his contributions and should carry on Success With Honor.
