so I've got this guy in the 'hood who is kind of like the neighborhood historian. I drive by his house to see a ton of garbage put out for trash. One of the items is a giant wooden trunk wrapped with leather straps, big metal locks, and ornate corner pieces. I stopped by. It turns our he had four of them and the other three were all in good shape. They were sucked up by charities in the area. I grabbed this one but it would take substantial work to restore it.

Anywhooo...I had been in his garage a couple of times and it could be a feature on "American Pickers". He told me he had given most of it away but was enjoying going through it. Much of it was emotional. He told me that he found a photo of his Great Grandfather from the Ohio State 1912 Football Club. 1912 was the first year of what would later become the B1G. His great-grandfather ended up being a Veterinarian for many years.

My question is, do you think there is a market for this photo? He said he's got it and a dozen more old photos but this was the only one of him in his uniform with a team picture.

I can’t imagine there not being some kind of a market. I guess the value ( real or imagined) will be driven by the interest … Personal/family, Team (historical), Conference, general college football, historical college football memorabilia , etc
—Sounds very cool

Nah, put it back in the trash.

There's got to be some sort of a market for it. Just look at all the odd stuff they get on American Pickers and Pawn Stars. Even the university might want it.

If doesn't wish to keep it as family memorabilia, sounds like something that should be offered to the bucknut sports museum
