@FloWrestling Glad to know the writer of this story is a PSU fan Alex was the best wrestler of the Year
I know. Not happy enough with the Hodge where the voters had to overemphasize career accomplishments to give it to Ringer (though I note that I didn't have an issue with the vote) when that category should be less heavily weighted per the rules.

Dieringer is awesome, but he was less awesome than Zain this year.

David Terao could have easily won the showstopper award as well. Or the Navy kid, Miller. Both of them made MSG gasp or standstill multiple times. I guess a standing ovation will have to do

With 28.5 NCAA team points scored, Zain as a one-man team would have placed 16th in the country to tie Kent State and put him ahead of Minnesota. ....

They gave the best freshman award to Nolf. Interestingly, they left off Jason's pin over, as they called him, two time NCAA champ Isaiah Martinez.

Certainly if you are listing major wins vs quality opponents, that wrestling world shocking fall says it all... okay, at least it says a lot. Nolf completely wore out IMar and forced him into submission on his back.

Still, Flo is being fair in their evaluations, so that one omission is just an observation, not a complaint.

Zain dominated all year long and capped it off with a national title. AD is a monster as well but statistically wasn't as dominant as Zain. The Hodge clearly takes what wrestlers have done over their career into account and not the "individual" season in question. It's been that way for a long time now.
