Hope he is the next Joe Iorio!6'7" 315 pounds
Good luck Jim -- you wouldn't be the first PWO to get some playing time.
Interesting comments on NFL satellite channel today. Pat Kirwan asked Paul Alexander, long time NFL offensive line coach, who is coaching offensive line in Senior Bowl why 3 out the 4 tackles he would be coaching awere from small schools like Central Michigan and Northern Iowa and he said all 5 of his offense lineman his last year of coaching at Central Michigan played in the NFL.6'7" 320 pounds. Big guy!
Good Point, 16 out of the 53 Man Steelers Roster come from Non Power 5 Schools.Just go down an NFL roster. You would be shocked at how many are from smaller schools. Some rosters have half of their players from these schools.
Great question! Spin Meister already mentioned Joe Iorio. If you hop in the Way Back Machine, Neal Smith was an All American safety on the great 1969 defense and holds the PSU career interception record.I know they are important to the life of a program but besides McGloin and Nassab have we had much luck with walk ons? By luck I mean have we had any difference makers besides those two.
Troy Drayton, Robbie Gould, Ron Coder, Gregg Garrity, Deon Butler, Ethan Kilmer, Dan Chesina, Rich Gardner, John Bruno, Brad Scovill, Jordan Norwood, Matt Kranchick... just to name a few who were drafted/played in the NFLGreat question! Anyone else?

11 for Chiefs
8 for Bengals
11 for Rams
10 for 49ers
I thought it was a good point because I thought the # would be lower....I thought maybe 6-7 for most teams. Not a good point. Using your numbers 80% are from the power 5 schools. Non power 5 schools outnumber power 5 schools. In Pa there are 2 P5 teams out of about 11.
The point being if NFL teams are drafting or college teams are recruiting they will be more productive targeting the bigger schools and higher rated recruits.

What are you talking about? I asked what walk-ons ever had made a difference past McGloin and Nassab...never said a word about being ok.......Wisconsin is going after Caleb Williams and you are ok with a walk on with no offers.
kickers historically a little different category. Start as preferred walk on, prove them self, get scholarship I think is the common path wayTroy Drayton, Robbie Gould, Ron Coder, Gregg Garrity, Deon Butler, Ethan Kilmer, Dan Chesina, Rich Gardner, John Bruno, Brad Scovill, Jordan Norwood, Matt Kranchick... just to name a few who were drafted/played in the NFL

My ignore list keeps growing and growing. I have no time for people that can't read and make up their own responses.
We usually give out a K/P schollie about every 3-4 years or so. Robbie Gould beat out David Kimball, who was a PARADE All-American and rated by SuperPrep as the top place-kicker prospect in the nation.kickers historically a little different category. I’ve been screaming this for weeks. Lotta LB movement and we have Sutherland at LB.USC just got two LB's; one from Bama, one from Auburn, both highly rated. Yet, we have our eye on Cornell, Harvard, etc. with no LB's from the portal to date. LB is our achilles heel going into the season, yet no descent players want to transfer here.
