FB Recruiting 2025 ATH Chaz Coleman commits to Penn State Football

Is it the other '27 OL? Believe he's top 30, essentially a 5*. Wiltfong cb'd him earlier.

Chaz Coleman. 3* edge from OH.

Been hearing his name lately on pods and blogs - from what I can gather: late riser, very solid athletic profile, plays multiple positions in high school but Barnes wants him on the edge.

Welcome aboard Chaz.

6' 5" ATH who also plays QB. He appears to have the ability to catch the ball. And he definitely runs well. Can he block?

His profile reminds me with his size and versatility of Tyler Warren.....

I did watch his video operating from the edge position and his raw athleticism along with good instincts are evident.

Watching his HUDL tape, I understand why we coveted in the recruiting process. I am curious how someone that large and athletic could fly under the radar. Was he just a Bballer that decided to play football relatively recently?

While I do understand why PSU and Coach Barnes are projecting him as an Edge at the next level, it would be nice to have a replacement for the 'Swiss Army Knife' that Warren has become for our offense this year.

It appears that he could offer 'position flexibility' down the road if he is willing and there is an opportunity for him to play earlier.

Watched his video when he first appeared on the radar. He definitely has a lot of burst. Somone used the word "raw" to describe him. He has a lot of tools for Deion B to work with. He may have taken the spot that had been dangled to Bradley Gompers. They are very similar athletically.

Interesting. Great athlete. the HS coach did him no favors playing him at QB if his skill set doesn't translate to the major college game. he looks so tall and smooth. Reminds me of Pyor in that he didn't look as fast as he was and kids took bad angles on him. He also looks to have quite a wingspan. So those short passes become more difficult (looks like he's had several INTs in HS). PSU has had a lot of success taking kids who are good athletes and developing them at DE. Lets hope he extends that tradition.

His school changed head coaches for this season. He apparently never played any defense before this year. Probably was QB because he was likely just the best athlete. New HC agreed, thought it was criminal he wasn't being utilized.

On3 really likes him. Went from essentially unknown to 208 (or 213) in their rankings. Hasn't camped anywhere. His offers have primarily come in the last 2 months.
