Tom Ryan is the "coward"

That is rich after they refused to wrestle Gallagher, who was NOT injured by the way. The Rogotzke slam may not have been intentional, but anyone could imagine that such a thing might cause an actual injury. Just another reason why I think Ryan is a tool, no matter how often people defend him and say that he's actually a good guy. For what it's worth, if Gallagher was willing to stand down and forfeit to Mesenbrink, then that's his prerogative, but for Ryan to then try to call ANYONE out for cowardice is really, really rich.

He knew he had that arm trapped and when he went down there was nothing to protect him on that side.

Pretty sure he's feeling that he's on his way to the door per my purportedly self-proclaimed tOSU Skulls insider source. Back channels want to go all in with Logie Bear. Say it's Logan Stieber taught techniques that Spencer emulated and they are pissed about missing out on Marcus Blaze after his training at the Ohio RTC. Besides, there's a youth movement afoot after DT's OSU year one success.

The greatest recruiting class in history has not performed through year three. Not liking either Rocco's redshirt in favor of Kharchla or keeping Davino in RS. So there could be a bit of of IDGAF anymore in play.

Ryan has some good qualities, but his mouth undoes any good feelings I have about his program and it having good, quality kids. The little bit of rot that apple occasionally displays reveals that at some level it reaches the core. Deep down, Ryan is a dick at heart.
Only he and his closest people really know. I prefer to suspect it is the opposite — he is good at the core but dickishness escapes in the heat of the moment . . . and he just experiences too many heated moments.

I suspect he’s a pretty tribal fellow. He’ll go to war for his guys. Even if war to him is an ill-timed, geo-located tweet, or what have you.

Yeah, maybe we should cut TaTo a break. He’s probably feeling a bit salty to discover that Jesse Mendez no longer has more skill than Beau in every position.

That and his 2nd seeded 5th year grad student Kharchla got dispatched twice by Danny Braunagel who had an 8-8 regular season record this year.

Oh, and his highest placed finisher this weekend was an 8th seed RSFR who wasn’t even going to be OSU’s starter at 157 until a few weeks ago.

Then there’s the fact that one of his guys got DQ’d for an illegal fist to the back or something.

And perhaps worst of all, the team robes didn't make it back from the dry cleaners in time to take to Evanston. The dude has had a rough week.

Really interesting video of Tom Ryan on a hot mic calling Rutgers cowards after Rogotzke illegally slammed Cartagena Walsh causing him to mff and Rogozke’s disqualification.
I must be lacking some serious context.

The Rutgers wrestler was injured and couldn't continue the bout. How does that make Rutgers (wrestler or staff) cowardly? Or does Tan Tom playing the "coward" card because the Rutgers staff eventually convinced the ref to DQ Rogotzke? What exactly is Ryan's beef?

And I'll say it again. I thought the Bouzakis lift and head drop of Van Dee looked considerably worse than what Rogotzke did to Cartagena Walsh. In that case, Van Dee took an injury default and Bouzakis walked off with a W and a couple team bonus points.

I think overall Ryan IS a good guy, but just can't stop himself from being a real douche at times.

And on the Tan Tom douche scale, the "coward" remark ranks pretty high. A higher rank is avoided only by the brevity of the remark.

At some point and after he's pulled a douche move dozens of times, you have to stop accepting that he's a pretty good guy. I'm more of the belief that he's a douche who occasionally has human moments. And, for the record, I've always thought that the tOSU wrestlers were good competitors and good sports and you have to give some credit for that to Ryan, but.......

The whole "black shirt" thing is also something that seems to collide with his true personality. These days with the NIL deals it's probably easier to rationalize the idiotic comments away.

You ever notice how many guys that wrestled for Dan Gable share that character trait?
That make me chuckle, because somewhat yes. Gable's guys had a tremendous amount of arrogant self-confidence.
However, the handful I have interacted with personally over the years have been pleasant as hell and easy to talk with.

And as posted from a tenured social media account that Tom won’t let any of his assistants have hair. What kind of lunatic has rules like that for his staff? All just to make him look more visually appealing.

Pshhh….

:)

Nothing like reading people online pretending like they have an ounce of clue to what they are speaking about. The coward comment is cringe AF tho.

Sure, my "my purportedly self-proclaimed tOSU Skulls insider source" could be one of those. Maybe even likely is, hence my description of him.

Unfortunately, Bouzakis was not called for an Illegal Move. Van Dee had to InjD. The pinned arm on Cartagena is specifically in the rule book and had to be called Illegal whether Ryan likes it or not.

That he openly complained about cowardice for having a proper ruling is silly at best.

Well, if TaTo does get the axe I think he still has his car dealership to fall back on.

BTW, "Tom Ryan is the coward" is a really unfortunate thread title. The kind of thing we'd make fun of GIA for.

Mods can do better than this.
