It's officially transfer portal season and there's a lot of movement expected this offseason with guys leaving for the NFL, guys entering the portal and new guys joining the team via the portal since it's essentially free agency.

To make things easier for you, we here at Happy Valley Insider have decided to make this the one stop shop for everything Penn State Football and the transfer portal this offseason.

Below you can see which players have entered the portal, who's committed to joining the Nittany Lions via the portal and which prospects that the staff has offered so far.

The transfer portal officially opens next Monday after the conference championship games. It's important to remember that the new magic number in terms of roster limits is 105 for next season.
By our count, Penn State's roster is currently at 129 players, and that's not counting the incoming freshmen (25). If you count the incoming freshmen, Penn State is at 154 players.

Therefore, Penn State just to get to the 105 player limit will need to see 49 players depart the program in some capacity this season. That's not including if they want to bring in anyone from the transfer portal which would mean, having to see even more players depart the program, likely pushing that number close to 60. We're going to see a TON of movement this offseason for Penn State and everyone else. Just be prepared.

We'll share all Penn State transfer portal news below plus more.

First time I've seen someone thank their professors and advisor. Nice.

With that change expect.mega movement and more parity because depth issues will impact every team.
I guess I don't understand the reason for the roster limits. Because of the upcoming requirement for each school to share revenue distributions? Will everyone of the 105 be on scholarship? Will there still be limits on size of travel team?

Everyone will be on some sort of scholarship. Teams are now allowed to give out partial scholarships but it could be 95 full and 10 scholarships broken up to 20 players or whatever. Football got downsized a bit with walk-ons but mostly every other sport received boosts in total roster spots due to the house ruling.
