5+ imo.Richie,
How many of the top 250 targets could we realistically expect to land? I know O'Brien looks to be one but how many others are we a good contender for?
102 of the TOP 250 are from three states. Does that seem likely? Another 44 from AL and GA.The 250 names listed are just the Penn State targets, the full list is here.

Maybe. Wrestling is not really a thing in all parts of the country. Football is played everyhwere. Approximately 60% of the Top250 in 5 states? Maybe that is true, or maybe there are more Rivals analysts or camps in these states. I don't know if that is the case. It just struck me how many kids were from just a few states when perusing the list. PA has 4, NJ has 2, NY has 1, and MD has 5 of the Top 250.Does seem likely.
Have you seen wrestling rankings from Pa, NJ, and Ohio?
I mean that's how it's always been tbh with you.102 of the TOP 250 are from three states. Does that seem likely? Another 44 from AL and GA.
Well, not always. Old timers like myself remember when the northeast, and specifically PA, produced a lot more top prospects. I know it has fallen off in recent times, but wow. And NJ (2 prospects) as well. When MD (5) has more than PA (4), things have changed. Ohio seems to be declining as well (9 prospects). Not really trying to make a point, except that it really has tilted incredibly to the south and CA.I mean that's how it's always been tbh with you.
The south has always been the king at developing talent, it's a big reason why every P4 program recruits the state of Florida.
I remember it well. PA was a top three state in terms of talent and Western PA was considered an absolute treasure trove of talent especially QBs.Well, not always. It seems to happen every yearWhy does it seem like all our commits and even targets dropped in rankings? Brown set a squat record and drops. Sieg gets offered by ND and they are trying to flip him and also drops.

Should be a top ten class which would be great.5+ imo.
Right now we have FutureCasts in for.....
And I feel good about several others.
We need a top ten class like 2022. Bottom line is having multiple 5 stars like Allar, DDS, and Singleton in a class is game changing for us. Franklin does a great job identifying talent, but he still needs to land some 5 stars in 2026.Should be a top ten class which would be great.
I agree these 5 stars are game changers. DDS not so much but next season should be a big one for him. Allar still has not played to his 5 star billing so hopefully he can improve. Isn't the O-lineman from Harrisburg a 5 star?We need a top ten class like 2022. Bottom line is having multiple 5 stars like Allar, DDS, and Singleton in a class is game changing for us. That's not true, Pennsylvania was ranked ninth in 2023 and they are ranked 11th in 2024.As of 2023, NFL players by state.
1. Texas
2. California
3. Pennsylvania.
Every single board says this about every single recruit when they drop, but Troy Huhn had a lackluster season this past year and rightfully so fell in the rankings.Huhn was rated #6 QB when he was being recruited and talking with Michigan. He commits to PSU and drops to #18. Just wonder how he could drop that far. PSU has seen this action by Rivals many times in the past.
Your comments are at least 10 years too late. Football talent following population shifts started years ago. Has the population grown in PA?Well, not always. I realize it has been dropping for some time. But we have reached another level if true. AL and GA have 44 prospects in the Top250, PA and NJ have 6. Going to make recruiting tougher, which I know has been a trend.Your comments are at least 10 years too late. Football talent following population shifts started years ago. As a state, I think the last stats show negative population growth everywhere except Buck, Montgomery and Chester Counties and possibly the LV.

How far back do we want to track? Also your original point was the Rivals250 for the 2026 class, the south has been dominant recently.False and false.
My ranking was all time. You are giving the ranking for ONE specific year.
Your point was the south has ALWAYS produced more players. A 2023 and 2024 stat is a long way from always.
Should we be concerned. I am. It's not like he is a safety or something he is a QB. Going from #6 to #18 is a huge drop off.Every single board says this about every single recruit when they drop, but Troy Huhn had a lackluster season this past year and rightfully so fell in the rankings.
I'd be a bit concerned, but like you said he will be depth for multiple years with Grunk being the projected starter.Should we be concerned. I am. It's not like he is a safety or something he is a QB. Going from #6 to #18 is a huge drop off.
Grunk will take over in '26 and play 2 or 3 years so we may need a guy for the '28 season. It would be Huhn so if he is not the real deal we better have another guy for sure in '27 who could step in for '28. Or start searching for another '26 guy.
Didn't know about his lackluster season. If so, rating drop justified.Every single board says this about every single recruit when they drop, but Troy Huhn had a lackluster season this past year and rightfully so fell in the rankings.
