That was a great game! Super Fun!! Yale wins their first nat’l champ. The last minute was frantic. Great D!!

agreed. I enjoyed the women's LAX national championship game a little bit more, but the men's LAX national championship game was full of drama, great plays, etc. Two great championship games this weekend.

Knowing Urso, he is happy Yale won.

Because he roots for underdogs? Because as a Maryland alum, who attended while they were part of the ACC, he's not a fan of Duke? Or something else?

If I recall correctly, JoePa attempted to recruit Urso out of high school, but he decided to play LAX in college instead of football.

He has come a long way from his MD days when he stuffed a security guard in a trash can. He is a born again Christian. I can see him rooting for the underdog. BTW, his team, Garnet Valley won the D1 PIAA championship. He did get an invite from either the Jets or Skins to tryout.

yeah, their D1 3A title this year was quite a surprise. They were the 15th seed in the Districts, which usually means they'll be lucky to make it to States (D1 sends 6 in 3A). They won their R1 game against D'town West, 14-4. Then they upset #2 seed CB East in R2, 7-6. Then they defeated #10 seed Perkiomen Valley in the quarters, 8-7. Then they upset #3 seed Upper Dublin in the semis, 8-5. In the finals they upset #4 seed Conestoga, 5-4. That's a quite a run through Districts, defeating the #2, #3, #4, #10, and the #18 seeds, with 3 of the wins being 1-goal victories.

HS championship on ESPNU right now Monday night

Talent wise, this is the least talented team that the GV boys team has thats made it into States.Their goalie has played lights out and overall the D has obviously played quite well throwing multiple zones on their opponents. Their lack of a good faceoff man hurts GV. Not sure they can keep their run going. The girls team also won Districts and is a fantastic [rogram producing tons of D1 players and winning 3 State titles in the recent years.

Is Tambroni going to get Penn State into the championship game? I thought he was the right guy when he took the job? Now, I'm not so sure.

if PSU makes a move, I think the guy at Utah gets the job (Brian Holman).

It's actually 4 titles in recent years for GLAX at GV. They were the PIAA champions in '15, '14, '12, and '11. Their program is an absolute powerhouse. It's somewhat remarkable that the won their 4 recent PIAA championships under two different head coaches.

I’m no lacrosse expert, but I’d be surprised if Penn State made a move here. Tambroni hasn’t been a disaster.

Are any booster-types making noise about Tambroni?

Holman has a great bio, but I assume he will want to get Utah up and running. Cant see him leaving for at least 4-5 years. He's also already in his mid 50's.
I think Sandy makes him an offer he cant refuse. They attended the same HS. He and his wife have East Coast blood. I wish him well either way.

GV girls have a great model for success. The Brandywine Youth Club is a tremendous youth feeder program with massive numbers. Almost of of the girls who play lax join travel clubs, and the coaches are outstanding.

I'd agree.

I do get concerned a bit about PSU's recruiting, which I thought would be elite under Tambroni. For last year's recruiting, PSU only landed 2 players on Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Incoming Freshmen Rankings (CLICK HERE to access). They were the #60 player and the #100 player. Last week, the #90 player announced that they were transferring from Boston U to PSU. By comparison, Maryland, Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse, Cornell, Ohio State, John Hopkins, etc. did much better. I wouldn't draw too many conclusions on 1 recruiting class, but for PSU to get into the top tier, they're going to have to recruit better than they did in 2017.
