Lettermen must request sideline passes by Wednesday of game week so 239 is the number. Much harder to get sideline passes today and frankly with all the security and other university personnel on the field there really isn't much room for 200 plus additional bodies.

I hope I'm wrong but I suspect a lot of kids will stay home for the Thanksgiving holiday. The weather won't help.

They have been gone since last Friday or Saturday. Plenty of time for a family visit. Halls open on Friday at 3 pm . Time to get back. If you choose a school like Penn State, it is kinda a given that you are attending a place where football is king. If they can't get back Friday night, party like hell into Saturday and then rip loose Saturday afternoon then the students aren't doing their jobs. I hope the students support the team Saturday.
A majority of students will come back for the game but many won't (it's not their job). A lot of people will also stay away because of weather and because they have family visiting for the weekend. I'd expect paid attendance to be 101,000 with actual attendance to be closer to 95,000.
I'd love to see 107,000. I just don't think it will happen.
