For those that like to quote their favorite part of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution here is a bit of legal history.

When discussing this amendment it's also good to review prior English law since the vast majority of our Founders were well-schooled in it. Most, if not all, of our founding documents and ideas were based on their English backgrounds.
Just so you know my family came to these shores back in 1642 and some of my ancestors include the Adams and Yale families. Some of those Adams folks had a lot to do with the Constitution including it's legal underpinnings.
As can be readily seen the meaning of this Amendment has changed over time. This leads to the conclusion that the current rulings by the Court are if nothing else - creative and activist.
Parse the words for yourself and then explain how you arrived at your interpretation - no 'canned' bumper sticker replies will be given any credit or be worthy of comment.
