Chittum trains at RTC South, which is at Tennessee-Chattanooga, where Nick Brascetta served as an assistant before moving on to Maryland. That could be the connection.
Here's the Minnesota connection: Chittum trains at RTC South. Other people who train at RTC South are old enough to remember when Minnesota was good at wrestling, and they told him about it.

I know he's only a Sophomore, but any educated guesses as to what weight he winds up at in college?
Couple years back, he came to Northern Plains (pre-Blair). He wrestled Juniors and took out Drew Woodley (outgoing senior who committed to Iowa State)...
But also, he looks like a Desanto-type. Might be a bit of a temper. Personally, I'm all for it, but I'm sure he'll grow out of it when he's 20 and graduating Blair lol.

He is on the older side. He came up through the youth ranks associated with McCallie (TN) - who attempted to wrestle at ETR a few years ago but got snowed in - aside, see below. I track incoming kids coming up as part of evaluating potential teams. He was on my list as an incoming for 3 years running, I think. Then he showed up at Blair.
McCallie was going to wrestle at ETR a few years back when we had the ice storm that never was plow through SE PA. Friday night during setup, PA declared a state of emergency because of a weather forecast. A western PA team got grounded by their SD, as did a school just about 10 miles away from us. We lost a couple of individual entries from VA. Our SD cancelled the tournament for about 30 minutes before our AD got involved (he fought hard and won). Fortunately, most of the teams had already arrived or were on their way and we were just about full capacity. And the weather never came close to hitting us that weekend.
Unfortunately, the McCallie wrestling team flight from TN into PHL was cancelled because of the hubbub. They never got here. Even more unfortunately - or not, depending on your perspective - the earlier flight that the McCallie parents and fans took to get here made it. So we had some extra fans from TN that year.

To be honest, I think that looks more applicable to another Big 10 school or two to go nameless. I prefer a more lethal analogy.
