49ers cut LB Reuben Foster after arrest on domestic violence charge in Florida

I don't know. Did he do anything? Is this someone taking advantage of his situation?

I guess I have to wait until the charges are dropped or kept to determine his stupidity.

The Niners have an opinion, apparently

another player sheltered by Saban and Alabama??
Seems this is a recurring scenario with Bama players when they get into the real world or am I incorrect?

Maybe they re sign Bowman was hoping he would play a few more years.

Forget that he's a bad guy- how freaking stupid does he have to be?

Amazing. Now he is charged with DV for the second time by the SAME WOMAN who brought the charges earlier this year, then recanted, saying she made it up.

Assuming she made up both those charges and these charges as well, how can he be so stupid as to be with her? Ever? Anywhere?

Of course, assuming she made up nothing, he has gotta go. Either way, not a guy you can take a chance on. Yikes.

Pathetic. Either this guy is a brutal domestic abuser or he willingly hangs out with an ex-gf who says she falsely accused him of FELONY DV, then recanted. I have some ideas which story I believe. But it does not matter.

It really does not matter if he did the DV, since he is obviously so stupid he cannot stay away from this person who falsely accuses him of felonies. The lure of having total control over this woman is irresistible to Foster.

It appears the skins are willing to take the chance that he does not murder her while he is on their roster. Seems a long shot.

If Foster is around this woman long enough, HE WILL KILL HER. The Skins ought to own that.

Foster will be fine in DC. One more bad apple with ethical, moral or severe personality defects will hardly be noticed.

Since she recanted in her first claim, it adds to the possibility she is making this one up too. Men can be abused...women use their power to make these claims knowing that it will cause damage. More information is needed before we all jump to conclusions.

The NFL, IMHO, has this one right. The 49ers cut him, which is their right. The 'skins claimed him, which is their right. The NFL has placed is status, effectively, on hold until the legal matter is cleared. If the claim is considered credible, the guy will be cut. If not, he'll be reinstated.

Personally, I've had it with the faux moral outrage and the Vicky Trippony school of justice. Entire libraries have been built to house the complex rules of law. Not sure why the NFL or PSU feels that they are smarter...but it is what it is.

Ok, glad you are fed up. But if he is still hanging around her, whatever the problem is will continue to occur. The NFL and the Skins own a piece of that now. Not something I would do, willingly associate that guy with my brand.

You seem to think the boundary of NFL fitness is proven, appealed, and sentenced criminal misconduct. I do not agree.

You do realize it is not at all uncommon for a woman to recant claims of abuse by a significant other even though the claims are true.

Yeah, it is almost like there is no recognition that he might have threatened to kill her. Well, whatever it takes to let boys be boys....

I do. I also realize it is fairly common for women to make this stuff up. I'd recommend you spend a week in family court. men have not cornered the market on being creeps.

it makes it less likely- but keep telling yourself that this punk is some poor abused good guy because it fits your narrative

fair enough. i don't know this guy nor his GF so won't jump to conclusions either way. But we've seen our share of smear campaigns using abuse as a tool that turned out to be 100% bogus. The redskins did nothing but claim the guy pending his due process. Nobody has "won" or "lost" at this point.

I use this gif, because this guy, Phil Hartman, was murdered by his crazy GF. He was trying to keep their relationship together for their two kids but she was drug addicted. They had a fight, he went to bed, she (on booze and coke) walked in while he was sleeping and double tapped him.

I am sorry, can you show me where I said this guy was poor, abused and/or good? I agree that it is "likely" he is more guilty than innocent, but that is an opinion. I like facts.

Don't you work in the law profession? If so, that is frightening

I don’t see him saying that. I see him saying to wait and see what the outcome is. Some women recant stories out of fear. Some women make accusations up. There is a legal system to figure this stuff out.
All that said, Foster is at best an ignorant fool. I wouldn’t have him on my team.

You keep saying things like " fairly common for women to make this stuff up." and "we've seen our share of smear campaigns using abuse as a tool that turned out to be 100% bogus" The actual numbers show this is not common and smear campaigns that turn out to be 100% bogus are few and far between. For some reason, a certain segment of our society seems to start with the default assumption that the woman is probably lying. Sad.

I call BS on that. Go spend a week at family court and you'll get an eye-full. yes, way, way, WAY too much abuse of women. But if you think these kids of accusations are uncommon, you are mistaken. Let me know when you see stats for women that accused men of abuse during a divorce who then recant. The criminal charge was never made and it was used as a tool to negotiate a better financial settlement. Those stats don't exist.

Meanwhile, a larger (or maybe just louder) segment of our society deems everyone who is accused as guilty. How about we just let him be suspended by the NFL and go through the legal process?

Who on this thread has done so? You kind of accuse me of doing that, but I specifically said that one need not reach that issue to kick this clown to the curb. Assume he is innocent, but he still hangs out with the woman who falsely accused him of felonies. Sorry, too stupid for a roster slot.

LOL...if "stupid" was a criteria for pro sports, we'd be all watching the Hallmark channel on Sundays afternoons.

Right, you didn't decide he was guilty of domestic violence, you simply decided it was a foregone conclusion that he is a soon-to-be murderer and added some sort of concocted control fantasy. In case you're unclear of the definition, none of that is 'truth' by the way

I have worked in this field as a volunteer for over a decade. I have spoken DIRECTLY with abusers about their abuse on literally HUNDREDS of occasions. What is your parallel experience? Watched the Godfather once?

If you were her life insurance company you would put a rider in her policy to exclude coverage if he kills her. It is not a crime to be controlling. So I did not accuse him of a crime, but her life is in danger. Seen too many of these things to want it on my conscience to assume otherwise. But you go ahead.

While you are at it, drive a car with bad brakes and no seatbelts on I 95 every day. Be sure to carry concealed with a loaded gun, off safe without a trigger guard. Hunt deer the same way. Good luck.

So many strawmen, in so little time. I'll try tho:

Ive watched the Godfather way more than once, don't see any relevance honestly
I don't work in insurance, so no idea
It won't be on my conscience either way- if he's such a terrible person she should stop hanging out with him as well.
What will be on yours if the charges are dropped? Or if the girl kills Foster?
My brakes are good and I always wear a seatbelt. Don't own a gun and don't hunt

Appreciate your concern

Lot of white knighting going on in this thread. Not surprised though since based on past threads the overwhelming majority of the board seems to agree with the idea that female predators who are teachers should not be charged when they abuse younger male students.
