So I received a Penn State Headlines, Sports Edition e-mail newsletter this evening. Among the headlines:

"Championships, academic records mark outstanding year for Penn State
Athletics"

"69 Penn State student-athletes receive Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award"

"Penn State Uplifting Athletes raises $120,000 at Lift for Life"

"Kline, Uplifting Athletes leading the fight against kidney cancer"

"Nittany Lions drop in to see young fans at Children's Hospital"

And the kicker:

"Penn State a national leader in NCAA championships since 2007"

I am appalled. This has got to stop. Oh, see the link below for an article concerning the national championships.

Sorry Bob, but something is wrong here. It says we lead the country with 16 NCAA Championships since 2007. Since 07', Pitt has that many in football alone. I also find it very hard to believe that in the last 8 years Penn State has 16 times more National Championships than our BIG RIVAL (Rutgers) has in their long and storied athletic history. I must also point out that I read on this very Board that Maryland has a better athletic program than we do and yet they only have 7 NCAA Championships in that time. No Bob, I'm not buying what you're selling. You got some splainin' to do.

The conclusion I draw is that while pitt, ru, and md all have superior athletic departments to Penn State, our Dear Old State leads the league in culture problems.

Looking at Penn State's athletic department, I. AM. OUTRAGED.
