About Thanksgiving dinner. It looks like I'm going, so I'm seeking the board's advice.

As you know Thanksgiving dinner can be a contentious event despite FDR's best intentions. Heck, I've witnessed fist fights in past years. But now we are more divided than ever. I'm seeking advice on how to avoid political discussions which invariably lead to conflict. What tricks do you guys employ?? FYI, I am a guest where democrats outnumber Republicans 2:1 and where only two of us (that I know of) are Independents. Should we Independents sit ourselves at the card table and just stay out of the line of fire? Please advise accordingly.

PS- I can't get out of it because I'm expected to carve the turkey and say grace.

Thank you.
