Adam Gress passed away

So sad.
If I recall, he (and maybe another player?) was at a WingFest the summer after his playing days were over, up on stage for some reason or another. Struck me as him having a huge personality, outgoing and fun.
Thanks for being part of our PSU family, Adam.

Horrible... tragic news... I am so sorry for the Gress Family and Angela .... don't even know what to say or do.

Unbelievable. Can't imagine the pain his fiancee and family must be feeling right now. So terribly sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Adam. Will always be proud that you were a part of our family. #WeAre

I just heard this from a co-worker. His nephew was friends (and former HS teammate) with Adam and is very upset. RIP Adam.

Horrible, horrible news. I had the chance to talk to him once. Made small talk about some people we both knew at West Mifflin. He was extremely engaging, extremely down-to-earth. You could just tell that he was the sort of kid that represented all of us well

As sports memories go, I'll never forget the block he made on the 4th Down play in triple overtime against Michigan

Prayers out to this young man's family and fiancee, gone much to early. When God walks through his garden he always picks the best first, so sad!

A good Brennan article, celebrating the many positive contributions Adam made as a Penn Stater, both on and off the field.

At 6-foot-7, 320-pounds and with long blonde hair during his playing career, friends and teammates affectionately called the West Mifflin, Pa., native “Sasquatch.”

The outgoing Gress embraced it, even making his Twitter handle “GressSquatch.” His sense of humor made him a favorite of beat writers.

RIP GressSquatch!

- A Very Big Loss
