Two reasons.
All of the defensive coaches return.
It seems like the defensive coaches already have a very good idea on who are the starters, the two deep and the three deep. Players can work out in the informal practices where they have a high likelihood of playing
On offense, only Limegrover and Rahne return.
On offense, only the QB and the line are set with a two deep. In the backfield, Sanders is the probable starter, but who is the second back?
The positions of WR, TE and Lion offer not only several options for the two deep, but also how will the team use Stevens to get the most out of his abilities. We almost have too many receiving options if we count Stevens as primarily a receiver.
I see some work in process to identify the starters and the rotation. If Bowers can't get healthy, TE will not be the rock it has been the past two years.
Thankfully, the first four games are eminently winnable, and hopefully we can get in synch on offense before OSU.
