Ajayi to Eagles...strong move by the birds****

Interesting move. Ajayi did very well last year. At the same time, he's known as a liability on pass blocking, and also does not practice one day a week due to his knees.

The Birds had already traded away their 2nd round, 3rd round, and 7th round picks in the 2018 draft, so there wasn't an expectation that they would be all that active before today's trade deadline. The had 3 4th-round picks, and 2 5th-round picks to work with, an it appears that Ajayi cost them 1 of their 4th-round picks.

I haven't read what his existing contract is like, or what type of an impact this makes on the Birds cap.

Teams have been blitzing the Birds a lot, in part due to the Eagles' success with the pass, and the fact that Darren Sproles is out for the year, and was their best pass-blocking RB. Whether Ajayi will improve his pass blocking remains to be seen.

I'm somewhat surprised that they went for a RB. With Jason Peters injury two games ago, there was some thought that the Eagles were looking for a LT. In addition, their CB play has been sub-par, though they are expecting that to improve when Darby returns in the near future from his ankle injury.

Agree Tom - I thought for sure they would try to get a LT - Not sure this was a huge area of need for them.
