AKB: For those familiar with travel around Philly, what's the best way to get from the airport

Philly subway is not as directly accessible to the stadiums as some other places.

Didn't check the buses- but if there is one that goes to the Navy Yard and then up Broad Street that is keeping you off of the highway and could work. Really Cab or Uber is best if going by ground.

Here is the Train Route:

The SEPTA Airport Line is a commuter rail route that runs from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Center City Philadelphia. The Broad Street Line is the best route to Citizens Bank Park.

Airport Line
  • The Airport Line runs from PHL through Center City to Temple University station.

  • You can buy a Quick Trip, a one-way ticket, at the SEPTA Key Fare Kiosks at the Airport Line Terminal Stop.

  • You can also get a SEPTA Key card at the kiosks.

Broad Street Line

  • The Broad Street Line is the best route to Citizens Bank Park.
  • NRG Station is located at Broad & Pattison, a short walk from Citizens Bank Park.
  • Trains run every eight to 10 minutes.
  • The Sports Express service on the Broad Street Line stops at NRG Station.

SEPTA Key cards

  • You can reload your SEPTA Key online at SEPTAKey.org.
  • Kiosks accept cash, credit, debit, tokens, Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Samsung Pay.

Thanks for the quick responses. I just found parking at the Holiday Inn for $16/day about 1.5 miles from the arena. Gonna go with that.

That particular building has seen its ups and downs so to speak.

I worked in that part of the city for a year in the early 2000s and frequented the Penrose Diner for lunch. At that time the hookers would stand right outside of the hotel looking for customers- but it was not a Holiday Inn at that point.

You could walk to Wells Fargo in 25 minutes or so from there- straight down Pattison past the Eagles Training Facility which is a cheaper priced parking lot for Wells Fargo events.

I'm sure it has been cleaned up since then- that whole section of South Philly has become almost suburban with $500,000+ townhomes and other upgrades- which will peak when the Phils, Sixers and Comcast-Spectacor build up the stadium area even more. Hopefully the walls don't talk!
