Lynch seems like a high quality kid. Did not hear him complain once about taking a back seat to Barkley. Total team first guy.

With that said, does he come back and use his fifth year? Time on field disappeared this year and may get even lower next year if Sanders is as good as advertised and does not redshirt.

We have a bit of a logjam at RB with Barkley, Lynch, Sanders, Scott, Allen, and Thomas. Gotta think that Lynch, if he has graduated, may choose to use his last year somewhere else and one of the other guys, maybe Thomas, transferring out.

With so much one back offense, just not enough time for all these guys.

Top 3 next year are likely to be Barkley, Robinson and Sanders. It will be interesting to see if Lynch comes back for a few carries, if he transfers, or is he just moves on from football. He does seem like a great young man.

The 3 others, this year's redshirt freshmen, can't believe they will get many carries going forward unless there are many injuries. CJF is going to try and bring in one top RB in each class, and hopefully it will be Swift in the 2017 class. Scott looks like he could switch to DB and contribute.

Agreed. I'd be surprised if Akeel Lynch and one other RB don't transfer. Thomas seems to be at the bottom of the totem pole.

Yes, due to injuries Thomas is at the bottom. But he is supposed to be a power back. Allen on the other hand is supposed to be a quick, speed back. But with Sanders and Barkley how will Allen ever get on the field? I'm believing that although Robinson is known for breaking tackles that he is also as fast as Allen. And Allen could not win either the punt or kickoff return jobs so he'll have a tough time getting on the field.....

Lots of talk, but I hope these young men that came to PSU when we were getting screwed by the NCAA, ESPN, and B10 can stay and get a great education that will serve them the rest of their lives......

Perhaps Lynch will be in demand in Canadian football. He's a citizen of Canada and a good running back.

Whats with any transfer talk for any of our players ? Every player recruited is not always going to be a starter. We have very little history of players transferring to other schools except during the sanctions. Most want to finish their education at Penn State so they have a degree from a major university vs some other 2nd tier school. See the grand experiment for reference.

Yogi - FWIW:

I think the assumption would be that a 5th year kid would have already earned his PSU degree (in fact, it is REQUIRED if a kid is going to "Grad Transfer").

Not to mention, the entire concept of "Grad Transfers" wasn't even a possibility during the Grand Experiment....it's a new concept in a new age.
