I have no experience with this, but it reminds me of when my Dad, during a very dry spell in Pittsburgh back in the 60's, died our grass green. I can still see him out there, with a sprayer and a large metal tank filled with green dye, going back and forth to cover the lawn completely. We had the greenest grass on the block until it grew out in a week or so. He never did it again.

someone here (Mt Nittany?) does this for a living. I'm sure he'll be around soon. The pictures he posts are really nice. You could put in a putting green too.

Look at CentaurFloors.com. The company that I work for is a distributor of their products. Look for a product called XRTurf. It's 12mm of solid rubber back in, with a 3mm layer of grass fused on. It comes 2 ways; 6' x 25' rolls, or 23" x 46" interlocking tiles

OP, where do you live?

I live in SoCal and put in a artificial turf dog run. Rest of our back yard is pavers. Really like the turf. Have friends who have a lot of turf in their back yards. Biggest draw back I have seen is it reflects heat when its really warm.

OK, look on their site. They can probably provide you a distributor to get it out there. It's actually made here in PA, in Lancaster.

I live in Northeast Pa. Near Wilkes-Barre.
OK. I can try to find a distributor for you out there.

It looks great if you use the right product and install it properly. Where it makes the most sense is what you're describing - small square footage in an area you don't want to maintain.

Will get wicked hot in the sun

This ^^^^ is the biggest drawback of artificial turf, IMO. My son was at a friend's home for a swimming party last summer, and they had artificial turf on the pool deck area encircling the swimming pool. The kids would get out and RUN to get across the turf because it was so damn hot.

If you install it in an area where you shade for a least some of the time, it will probably be a better option.

They have it at the Welsh pool in State College and theirs gets so hot it burns the skin off your feet

MtNittany...I sent you an email with pics last weekend. Have you had a chance to look at it?

Thanks.
Sorry Petch. Just found it in my spam folder. I'll draw it up and get you something by tomorrow sometime.
