ABC World News Tonight for the last two or three days in a row is milking that story about the Mormon offshoot that got shot up in lovely and scenic Mexico. While only naturally born citizens there can own a gun, there exist strict regulation for gun ownership. I checked out three websites and there is some mild variance in rules and regs but this info below appears solid. There is a limitation on caliber size with nothing thirty caliber or larger. In 2018, Mexico's death by homicide with gun is twice what it is in the USA. Seems that ABC can't make the connection when pushing their anti-gun propaganda.
- In the US, there are 64,417 firearm dealers nationwide (as of September 2017).
- In Mexico, there is one. (You didn’t misread that. THERE IS ONLY ONE! And, it takes months of paperwork to have a chance at purchasing one legally. And this has been true since 1972.)
