Thereby putting his “cause” on par with that of Nelson Mandela and Malala Yousafzai (the Pakistani school girl). Give me a break! Are minorities overrepresented in our penal system. Sure. But if you can’t do the time then don’t do the crime. It’s that simple. We are a nation of laws irrespective of skin color, and if you don’t like our version of justice then ‘try on for size’ the injustices of China, Russia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Cuba or a plethora of other authoritarian regimes where life is cheap. It’s not like you can’t get a taste of real injustice.

How do we know Colin is undergoing a crisis of conscience. Because if what he says is true, that systemic racism still exists in this country, then where pray tell are the voices of black police officers?! There are more black police officers now than during the Civil Rights era, yes? More minority officers on the streets than ever. Their ranks are legion! But nay, instead we get this perspective…

This void, this lack of empathy by minority police officers serves as a litmus test. It enables us to separate the wheat from the chaff; to differentiate true activism from just another cause celebre, perpetrated by a QB who has seen his better days gone by.

I thank you and have a blessed day!
