An odd thing last night

Our seats were low down in sec. 108, low enough that the Brands' standing and going onto the mat repeatedly blocked our views.

The odd thing was that after Stoll lost, Terry Brands (pretty sure it him and not Tom; if you were looking from the center of the mat, he was on the extreme left of the four seats) jumped down from the platform and jogged out of the arena, skipping the handshakes after the match. What's up with that?

My read at the time was that Stoll didn't want to shake when he lost to Nevills.

Maybe he had a phone call from the Rutgres coach asking Terry if he could help talk Cassar into an immediate transfer because Delany said he could wrestle this year at NCAA's with the new transfer from Penn State rule with no penalty to be implemented in the BIG 10!

I've got my Mega-roll of TP for when I have to shyte my cruiseliner.

It also looked like Stoll did or said something at the end of the match that Nevils too exception to. Nevils seemed to head off to follow after Stoll, but the referee intervened. Anyone catch what happened?

Stoll gave a very minor push to Nevills and Nick said something to him. Stoll then walked off the mat and off the platform and did not participate in the team handshake. I didn't notice what Terry did. Wasn't much to the whole thing.

Was Terry jawing with the fans? It looked like it on TV.
The fans were sure jawing with Terry. We could hear/see that even from our vantage point across the arena. Someone closer would know what was actually said. I saw Matter already responded...he was closer than me.

Heard from someone later that Terry turned around, I think after 184, and conceded the dual...in a light-hearted way.

Terry's always jawed at the crowd.

Many years ago, when he had his short head coaching gig at UT Chattanooga they came to UNI to dual with UNI. A couple of fans were ribbing Terry from the crowd and he was signaling for them to come down and face him, face to face.

Dignity from a head coach, indeed, folks!

Nice win over ISU. You were led well by former Hawkeyes against former Hawkeyes.

Iowa and their fans are having a really hard time acknowledging the fact that not only are they are patently no longer the Alpha Dog, but they are not even the second best hound in the pack. And on top of that, their three best guys are "borrowed" from out-of-state, including two from PA. They are experiencing an unhealthy combination of depression, embarrassment, frustration, anger, finger-pointing, and resignation. You can see this on the Hawkeye Report wrestling forum.

I saw that and thought the same thing!

borrowed? Please... Guess you borrowed most of your starters from other states? Or does that not apply to you?

Is that all of HR or a select few that fit your narrative? Did you see the many including myself that called out Franisdaman for the Sandusky crap? Or do you only see the bad?

I see that the sh!t is still on your board 12+ hours later (after your fans sobered up and the mods had a chance to delete but didn't) so wink, wink, nudge, nudge we see how it works.

I did see you guys calling him out and I respect that. However I have to agree the thin skinned mods (I was banned for calling out a former Hawkeye that admitted to breaking NCAA rules and the board thought it was funny) allowing this hatred to continue is just not right. I can name the posters that play that card when they have no other point to debate and usually goes unaddressed.

That does work both ways. You also paint with a broad brush sometimes. See below.

Always have to find something to bitch about with the Iowa coaches dontcha? How about just enjoying the win?

I wasn't talking about all of BWI just the ones who repeatedly drag the Brands through the mud just because they can.

You replied to ALL of BWI which includes myself who has never said anything negative about the Brands on this board. I'm failing to see the difference except in your mind.

You will get it if you start paying attention. I was mostly referring to the OP Mr Matter that has constantly trashed Brands and crew since Virginia Tech. The Brands are great coaches just like Cael is. Tremendous respect for those champions

Terry does something classless like that and that's your takeaway? And I'm enjoying the win just fine, thanks. But it was an odd thing.

Some of your board displayed some class last night when that clown started up with the Sandusky stuff. Congrats to those who did.

I've stated facts about Brands and crew since he left VT, which was a despicable episode on many fronts by Brands - not someone else. You seem to have a problem with that. Facts are tough to face sometimes. When there are new discussions about how great TnT are, those facts are relevant. It's *all* rehashing the same points.

Let’s take a look at the PSU winners last night:

133 Corey Keener, Pennsylvania
141 Nick Lee, Indiana
149 Zain, Pennsylvania
174 Mark Hall, Minnesota
184 Bo Nickal, Texas
197 Shakur, New York
285 Nevills, California

So 5 of your 7 wins were borrowed?

I like the Brands brothers. They do a good job of promoting the sport, and they’re passionate about what they do.

I think any wrestling fan should be able to appreciate that.

I never reply to ALL of BWI btw. Sorry if you took it that way.

No other way to take it. You accused aggie of painting with a broad brush, which in fairness, he did. However, he posted on this board about what was said on HR. Your post that I quoted was made on THIS board about what was said on THIS board and was not made to a specific post, but to the board at large. If you don't see that there is nothing I can do to make you see the distinction.

I think we are done here. Talking in circles gets you nowhere. Agree to disagree. Happy Sunday to you
