And here I thought I liked Chipotles.

Staffing issues are out of hand. A chain restaurant in a mall can’t stay open on a Saturday. There was a time when people worked for money. Not anymore. I see a lot of chain restaurants closing early, often with little to no notice.

The Starbucks in Millburn, New Jersey is closing every day at 1:30 p.m. This started September 18th and supposedly will be in effect until October 1st.

Not a business I know of, big or small, that is not looking for workers. I know many business owners in many fields and all cannot find decent help, even for high paying jobs. Almost every entry level location, stores, restaurants, factories, warehouses all have help wanted signs out. A friend of mine has a construction company and they cannot get anyone to even apply for a job. They cannot take work because they don't have enough employees. There is something seriously wrong when you have all of these job openings and such high unemployment numbers.

Malls are still a thing? I thought Amazon bought them all up on the cheap to turn them into customer fulfillment centers.

what really scares me is that you are starting to see some shelves empty of things now. we are approaching scarcity of goods type of situation that could end up in some bad places if we are not careful. We are also seeing real inflation start to occur. Just go into a grocery store or a hardware store or try to get somebody to come to your house and do some work, everything is up by 10, 15, 25, 50% or more from a year ago.

Pulling a gun in a restaurant? Some people do not know right from wrong. She needs to be put away.

Yep, we are teetering on becoming the Soviet Union where people went panic buying of anything they could buy. Then they take stuff they didn’t really want and sold or traded it on the black market. Could happen here soon if people get the sense that shortages of stuff will be long term and on critical items.
