Andrew Quarless

That's when Quarless took out a semi-automatic handgun — ID'd by police as a .45 caliber weapon — and fired two shots, one straight up into the sky. Why? When police later interviewed a woman in Quarless' car, she said he'd fired "in an attempt to emphasize his dominance and manhood."

Maybe he should have just gotten out of the car and urinated. He'd be facing a less serious charge.

Geeze, if true, another guy with money, fame, and no common sense or self control.
Quarless was a head case while at Penn State too. He always had the talent to be great, but somehow lost his desire to play his best in many games. Head cases usually do crazy things when not controlled by people who are watching out for him. Fame and fortune usually provide for fair weathered friends who want to capitalize on his fame, but not watch out for HIS well being!

He's facing twenty years in prison if he's convicted in this case depending on how they charge him.
Florida has some strict mandatory sentences for gun crimes. If he wounded someone it's 25.
There is no legal reason to discharge a gun other than legitimate self defense in a case like this .

There are no words for this stupidity.....I was just telling my son the other day that Quarless (to his credit) has had a pretty good career hanging on as anywhere from the 1st to 2nd and even sometimes 3rd string tight end with the Packers......and looked like he had the 2nd string TE locked up (behind the other Rogers) this year.......As others have said, I am sure he will be gone before I even get up to see them at summer practices.......organizations do not have to put up with this crap from a 2nd string tight end.....he is very replaceable in the Packer system.....after several years here you would have thought he knew how disposable he is.....gun shots and tattoos don't sit well with the Packers or the NFL as a whole right now.

An under-appreciated benefit of guns is that they help us identify the a-holes in our midst. This evening, for instance, select members of that group of people will be firing guns into the air in and around my neighborhood. Good times.

Update 12:00 p.m. — According to a police report released to New Times, MBPD were called by a parking attendant near Lennox Avenue and Fifth Street who witnessed Quarless' dispute and the gunshots.

According to the parking attendant, Quarless and another man — identified as Michael Ritchie, a 31-year-old from New York — were leaving the garage in a black Porsche Panamera when they approached a white car filled with several women. An argument ensued, with the attendant hearing the women yell "No, get away, leave me alone!"

Police quickly responded when the parking attendant called 911, and found the black Porsche a few blocks away. Quarless was soon found trying to hide in front of Siena Tavern, police say, "attempting to conceal himself and a black firearm in a nearby plant."

Police dug the gun out of the plant and later matched rounds found on the ground near the garage with the gun. Quarless was arrested on a misdemeanor account of firing a firearm in public and taken to Turner Knight Guilford Correctional Center for processing.

Not to much good can happen at 5:30 am chasing chicks around an adult beverage establishment.

"God's Gift" o_O

We're very fortunate to not have many cringe-worthy Penn Staters in the NFL. Quickly thinking about it, I can only come up with LJ Jr. and Quarless.

Quarless was usually Clueless.....if he had McGloin's attitude and work ethic he'd have been a first or second rounder and be a starter in the league.

Maybe he'll realize that when he meets some new friends in prison.

What a waste of talent.....sad, very sad.

Idiot. Why do I get the feeling that even if he doesn't go to jail, he ends up broke. "God's Gift" to him and his family will be wasted.

Please explain to me why someone who has the world by the b - - - can screw up his future like this. I'll bet anything they cut him loose within the week.

Hey Mike, it's been awhile.....how's the move to Glencoe working out?

Have you played Skokie or been there for dinner since you moved to suburbia?

Hope you're doing well.

Howdy, IL. Glencoe has been fine, it's starting a new family at my age that's been a challenge. There has been no golf.

Some nights when I finish running I see a white 7- series with a Penn State decal in my neighbor's driveway. It's not you stopping off after a round, is it? We really need to meet up since you seem to be over here frequently. Maybe a bite at Cibo Trattoria - I wonder if their liquor license has gone thru yet...

Quarless was ALWAYS "questionable". He should be suspended by the NFL for a year and put into the "GROW THE FRIG UP PROGRAM" !!!

This is why I really don't follow the NFL much and don't look at the players from where they went to college. Money changes you.
