Great write-up. The author is publishing a column about Cael tomorrow. Welcome to Penn State, Nick Suriano & family.

"Penn State will be my home. It’s an awesome place. It’s a big sports Mecca. Academics. Sports. I want the full package and Penn State has that."

"The bottom line is I want to be part of a program that has the full package, that includes wrestling at the highest level. Penn State has Sanderson, one of the greatest coaches ever. They have the academics. The Penn State alumni on the East Coast are unreal. I’ll have everything I need when I graduate and after wrestling and after my Olympic dreams, maybe [MMA] fighting, whatever it is. I believe I can bring the full package to Penn State with my athletic ability and my smarts. I think I can bring a lot to Penn State and Penn State will take me through the roof. It’s just the full package to me."

I remember that we had a recruit scheduled to visit Penn State. Notre Dame coaches showed up at his home at 5:00 AM, on the day he was to visit PSU, and ND received his pledge. He never visited Penn State again.

That one hurt because he was coming to enroll early with a weeks worth of clothes. And then the ND staff just outworked us. I'm glad our new staff is relentless and won't be outworked.

Sent news of Suriano's commitment to our HS wrestling coach here. He said Suriano will likely wrestle 125 for one year and then move up as PS will likely get a commitment from a 2017 freshman that is as good, if not better.
Sorry, deleted his text to me and I cannot recall the junior's name.
Name or not, sounds like another run of conference championships and battles for NCs.

The Junior's name is Spencer Lee and he is right up there with the most sought after and heralded PA recruits of all time. Many believe Lee has a legitimate shot winning 4 national championships.

He just teched his way through the World Junior Freestyle Championships in Brazil to win a gold medal. His finals match only lasted 48 seconds.

Good stuff mn78psu83.
Thanks for your info and the link.

Hope Cael can land Spencer Lee too.

A wrestling board poster showed how he would be a perfect fit in PSU's lineup in the coming years,

TJ, I sure hope that his future is as a Nittany Lion. Two world titles in a row. Cadets last year and then completely dominant as a 1st year junior in what is an extremely tough tournament. Just look at how few Americans have brought home gold at Junior Worlds over the years. It is not a long list.
