Let’s hope the team can catch lightening in a bottle and win most of the remaining games.

As for Pat - it’s not a bad thing to admit shortcomings. Self-reflection and awareness are two virtues that are hard to master, especially when it comes to your job and how you make a living. I hope he can see, at this point, what he has tried has not totally worked and it might be time to try something different.

I like Pat and I think he’s good for the University as a whole. This team has the ingredients to be pretty good. I hope, with some adjustments, the team catches fire, and that he has his bottle ready...

The talent is on the roster to win now. Watkins and Carr are among the top 20 players in the B10, and Stevens is not far behind. The talent Pat recruited is maturing and the freshmen Wheeler is a player as well. And even Moore is playing better in his role as a backup Center. Maybe due to Pierce ready to take his minutes....

But what is the answer that could have gotten this team 2 or 3 more wins already this year? It's a mystery to me. But the team, and Pat, never seem to get many calls. Watkins is now a pretty proven player in the league and his positioning is now very good in general. But he still gets called for the B.S. calls every game. I don't know what Pat actually says to the officials, or how he interacts verbally with them. But whatever his style is does not seem to be working. Pat needs to sit behind the benches of more successful coaches and learn from them how to "work" a game. He could try Archie Miller, Sean Miller, .... take his pick. But he needs advice and he needs to tweak what he has been doing ......

And a 6'8" - 6'9" long, athletic Forward that can score around the hoop would also help for next season..... or 2019.

Run back hard on defense. Block out. Play defense with your feet, not just with your hands. Don't hang your head after a miss or a tough call.
