Am I missing something? I can't seem to find Anthony anywhere in the team photo or the trophy presentation video. Did he change his look or are my eyes going on me? He was a huge part of this year's team story.

Well Rasheed wasn't there last year after losing his spot/getting hurt and he stuck around. Not gonna jump to any conclusions yet.

There are some difficult, but worthwhile conversations to be had.

I don't think he was there, I saw pretty much everyone in the photos, and he'd be hard to miss. Not sure how much should be read into it though, because while it could be a sign, it could also simply be that he was sick or something.

He most likely will be wrestling elsewhere next year. It sucks, but he's too good to be riding the bench.

He's a NJ guy, no doubt Rutgers is already meddling.

I saw a tweet From cutch @NCAA complaining that the team only got 10 passes and there should be more given (something to that affect).

The team pic I saw had a bunch of guys I didn’t recognize. Wondering if since they only had 10 passes some guys didn’t show or maybe only seniors?

I didn’t see Verk, Berge either.

Who was kid in first row holding the trophy?

Cassar should probably go elsewhere if he feels he won’t start. Both Rasheed and Cassar should be starters on D1 teams. If. It’s Rutgers for Cassar, so be it. Though I’d like to see him go to a non-Big 10 team, so there are no transfer issues. Maybe NC State?

I saw him at Big Ten’s but not NCAA’s. As for all this talk of him transferring to Rutgers, won’t he likely lose a year of eligibility? We all know how the Suriano thing went down, but that was abnormal. If Cassar has any type of scholarship, he’ll lose eligibility transferring within the Big Ten.

P.S. I ran into a low life Rutgers fan this weekend who was asking me questions about Cassar and trying to convince me that Cassar should come to Rutgers. Lol. The dude was a total turd.

I would certainly understand if Anthony decided to transfer. But I would really hope he picked someplace that would provide him an opportunity to continue to progress and improve. After watching this weekend it is obvious Rutgers is where you go to digress. Make a better choice, Lock Haven.

I look at Cassar a couple ways, 1. I think he’s still got lofty freestyle aspirations and outside of Nebraska, tOSU or Iowa, you’re not gonna get better partners. 2. If he would choose to leave, nobody here could blame him and most importantly, wherever he goes, he’s not beating Sugar, so what’s it matter?

Iowa? I could picture Missouri (Cox) as joining PSU and tOSU as a great place for a guy that size to train freestyle, but Iowa has no stud big guys that I am aware of. PSU with 2 olympic golds in that size range makes the most sense. Maybe ASU as he and Zahid look similar sized.

Ye of little faith. Cassar is a stud and with one more year removed from 2 years of injury, he comes back even stronger next year and takes the starting position back. Shak is very solid but I think if Cassar wrestlers more aggressive he will be better.

Isn't Iowa touting Warner as a four time champ?

I am of the opinion that Anthony ....IF he decides to leave....should be able to go wherever he is the happiest......period. He has earned that. No PSU fan is going to forget that win over Moore. Also....if Anthony doesn't win his match at Lehigh....Penn State loses that match. Great kid. I will root for him to be successful wherever he is.

It’s a tough spot for Anthony to be in. I have to think Shak is only better next year. Reason being, he wasn’t even a full size 197 pounder. Shak has the frame with another year in the weight room to be a big 197 pounder next year without losing his quickness and athleticism. Shak wrestled this weight all year at about 190 pounds.

...why is staying and earning the top spot a bad choice?...
...he has 2 years of eligibility left...
...if he goes to a Big 10 school Anthony has only one year left...
...Shakur only has one year left...
...who's to say he can't win the spot next year?...his upside is much more attainable at Penn State...
...but thas jes my opinion...

Shak had a good tournament, but not so good that he locked up the job for next year.

If Cassar stays I would think Cael would alternate he and Shak much of the year, just like this year, then wrestle off again for the post season.

Nothing's promised the following year. Cassar vs Rasheed could be another good battle.

Regardless of your opinion that he should be able to wrestle wherever he wants, there is a conference rule that if you transfer from a big ten school to another big ten school, you must sit a year and lose a year of eligibility. That’s precisely what happened to Cortez when he transferred to PSU.

And if I said he should be able to go anywhere he wants AND ignore the rules.......that would mean something :)

1. Excellent seeding job by Tan Tom by giving his guys the most favorable brackets and screwing over PSU.
2. Home state advantage - can't do anything about that.
3. Credit given where credit due - Ohio State dominated top to bottom, outbonused PSU and wrestled smart. PSU's big guns didn't bonus as much and a lot of low low wrestling IQ so far (Keener getting pinned twice, Nick Lee getting pinned, Rasheed going down, Nevills locking hands twice, several wins where we left bonus points on the mat).

But have to emphasize OSU deserved this...they out wrestled us top to bottom. Beat us at our own bonus points game.

Time to face the facts....Nevills simply isn't very good. I wouldn't be shocked if he failed to AA now that he's dropped to consis.

Just no offense and terrible wrestling IQ

Now that Nevills and Rasheed both lost, yes it's over.

OSU up by 15 points and their max points is fifty (yes, not an error....50!) above ours. Unless they go 0-fer tonight it is safe to say we can't catch them.

OSU up by 15 and max up by 50 points. Unless they lose a bunch tonight and we go flawless it is effectively done.

I would agree that under the strict Hodge criteria Snyder should not win since he lost this year.

However, Hodge voters have shown they don't always follow their own rules.

Why Snyder will win, imo:

1. Zain won last year
2. Snyder is World/Olympic champ
3. Snyder gives up 40-50 pounds in every match
4. Snyder is 3x champ like Zain
I'm feeling better about Cassar by the minute after seeing the accuracy here...

Depth is very important. Consider this season when our man was the Mighty Mouse, and he suffered an injury, which meant enter Anthony. Then when Shak got hot, it became enter Shak. This coming season, what if someone should go down with an injury? Keeping Anthony AND Shak would be a great scenario and the two young men are brothers, they might just want to both stay around and sharpen each other next season also, and if Anthony wins the spot, then the tables turn and Shak supports Anthony in March.

Not how it went. Cassar beat Cutch
