Seems clear Michigan State wants nothing to do with a reschedule since they didn’t want to wrestle yesterday.

What about Rutgers or Iowa? We have a match Friday and Monday already scheduled with tOSU and Maryland respectively.

Is it possible to get one of them in midweek this week or added with one of the tOSU or Maryland matches? Is it worth it at this point?

Schedule says Iowa not happening, Rutgers highly unlikely.

Next weekend:
- F 2/19: PSU at Ohio State, Iowa vs. NW, Rutgers at Maryland
- Sun 2/21: Iowa at Wisconsin
- M 2/22: PSU vs. Maryland

Maybe PSU-Maryland becomes a tri-meet with Rutgers. Don't expect that, but it's the only real shot unless Ohio State cancels.

The following weekend is the usual week off before B10s. Would be shocked to see PSU schedule anything then -- Cael wants his guys mentally fresh for the postseason.

I was most worried about starters getting the 4 matches, but now that Robbie is going, we should be fine there (maybe Kerk a problem if he can even go).

Would suck to need 4 matches and have to get to final to get your 4th (or pull a Tato and have your guy intentionally go to wrestlebacks)

Not positive, but don't believe the matches at the Conference Tournament count toward the 4.

Just noticed Rutgers hosts Maryland Friday night. Would be nice if they just came to PSU on Monday and have a tri meet.
It is tough to believe Goodale would pass up such a good recruiting trip, but I do not see PSU picking up any additional matches. I also believe the staff thinks they have what they need to be ready for the post season.

I’d have to think they might want to see some more data for 149, where VanBrill would be a good measuring stick.

Not sure Rutgers would want to get clobbered though...the fans would love to see Lee/Rivera, and Beard/Poz should be a good match, but they basically don’t have a chance in any other match.

I am pretty sure they know exactly what they are going to do at 149.
I know the staff loves the support they get from the PSU fans, but when the decisions are what we need teamwise vs what fans want, the fans desire to see Lee vs Rivera is a minimal concern.

I know the fans are not a concern...that was just a side comment and pointing out that’s one of the few matches where Rutgers has a chance:

I also don’t doubt they know what they’re doing at 149. I guess I moreso mean that it would certainly help whoever it is’s seed If they beat VanBrill.

Iowa is appears to be definitely out of the question although I don't see anything yet on the school site.

"Out of an abundance of caution, Iowa’s dual against Northwestern that was scheduled for Friday has been postponed. A decision will be made regarding Iowa’s scheduled dual at Wisconsin on Sunday later in the week."

Penn State, Michigan State, and Rutgers all had duals canceled against each other. I have nothing more important to do on Saturday or Sunday. If Michigan State doesn't want to come, send Nebraska who had a dual with Rutgers cancelled. No better way to get ready for four straight wins to take home the conference title than by breaking in with four duals over four days (I can dream).

I don;t think Cael is interested in any extra duals on the last weekend of the regular season. In fact, this will be the first weekend since Cael came to PSU that we have two duals on the last weekend of the regular season.

I’d say Alverez vs RBY should be pretty entertaining.. but yeah u guys are huge fav, congrats.

I'm not a PSU fan (not really a fan of anyone but would say Rutgers if I had to pick). Agree Alvarez/RBY would be entertaining, but we've already seen it and Alvarez would be a longshot.

I guess you never seen a wrestler reverse a past result before... FYI Micic, Fix, and Desanto all beat Suriano last year and Suriano beat them all back in the rematch...

RBY/Alverez had a close SV their first meeting and RBY would be a fav again but it wouldn’t be a long shot for an upset... but yeah your opinion... at least it would be entertaining.

Vs Rutgers..truly just want this to get some more matches in for our guys.

Obviously Lee/Rivera the headliner..I'm picking Lee but total pickem if we're being honest at this point. I would say winner of this match gets 1 seed at B1Gs and loser gets the 3.

RBY/Alvarez always crazy..RBY likes to get to legs and Alvarez loves to scramble, anything can happen even though RBY favored

Bartlett vs Van Brill..I want to see Bartlett given oppotunity since I believe our 149 dual starters are a combined 1-3 this year. Van Brill a tough kid but this is type of guy Bartlett needs to be beating if aspirations for AA this year

Howard.just get more matches in. He will get better as he gets more competitions.

I think you'll continue to see Cael go with the winner in the room for upcoming duals as the starter @149. Reading the tea-leaves, both Bear-claw and B-squared beat Gardner (something going on with Verk - injury if I had to guess) - Bear-claw won the wrestle-off finals for Michigan. Who starts this Friday will be interesting - imho, Bartlett has better offensive skills relative to Bear-claw... often times, better offensive skills will ultimately win out because overtime they figure out ways to overcome their opponents defense via familiarity. Again, no need to speculate imo as we are going to see the winner on the mat from the room make the start and the runner-up in extra matches. Again, just my opinion, but Cael will have the #1 from the room this week (the probable post-season starter) go against Sasso because it will benefit them tremendously if they have to see him again at B1Gs. If TB is the starter vs duhO$U, it likely signals BB has not solved him and TB is the likely starter. If BB makes the start, it likely means he solved TB and is the probable starter in post-season. Again, whoever makes the start against Sasso is the likely 149 lber for B1Gs imho.

I have no inside knowledge of who is beating who in the room but I can't imagine Bear Claw beating BB even giving up the size .

This is why we #trustincael #Caelplayingchessweplayingcheckers

Cael said maybe some extra matches with Rutgers, probably no dual. Goodale may bring some guys up to wrestle probably guys who need matches for both squads.

Roar..any news on the extra matches? Listened to Goodale on his weekly presser saying that him and Cael spoke. Rutgers agreed to send some guys for us to get extra matches and got it OK’d with B1G.

He said he was waiting on a return call from Cael to finalize this

So that would make us BIG regular season champs or atleast co-champs once again???😉

Rutgers just cancelled their match with UMD due to positive COVID test within Rutgers.

Sounds like Rutgers travelled to UMD and weighed in before the match was cancelled moments ago. Very strange. Must be a new positive test by Rutgers.

Whoever it is sits in the conference tournament. No idea but Sammy Alvarez, Joe Grello, Brett Donner, and all of their HWTs are under the four match minimum.

Does this mean that PSU will not get to see the Rutgers extras on Monday?
