First off, not an Eagle fan here to gloat. As a Penn State and Saquan fan, the Giants personel people have to be looking for the deepest hole to crawl into. I have no feelings for the Eagles (notice Mrs Mayor at least I DO know how to spell EAGLES) but the PSU in me wants to see Saquan win.

Honestly, the Giants fans I have spoken to (well, the ones who aren't PSU alumni who of course wanted Saquon to succeed regardless) generally seem to still to wish Barkley well and are happy for his success. No one really seems bitter over him leaving or thought he did anything wrong in the process.

That doesn't mean they want to Eagles to win the SB of course, but I don't see the kinds of "hope he gets injured" kind of spite either.

My angle was more embarrassment than bitterness. They threw a diamond in the garbage and someone found it and put it to good use. Anyone wishing physical harm gets what they deserve.

To be fair, there's a big difference between what Barkley did with the Eagles and what he could have done this year with the Giants. And with Barkley, maybe the Giants win 5 or 6 games this year instead of 3? Paying big money to a 27 year old RB makes sense for a team on the cusp of a Super Bowl. I'm not sure it makes sense for a rebuilding team.

Agreed. Giants have a LOT of problems and they won't get fixed by anyone overnight. Not taking on Saquon's big contract was probably the right thing to do for both the player and the franchise. In the pregame stuff, Saquon was clear that he was on a mission to show how important a great RB is for a SuperBowl run. Lets hope he dots the i on that statement in New Orleans.

Not sure what stings more..Saquan..or the $40MM given to Daniel Jones..only to have him leave the organization..though the one benefit the Giants have.,..is the only other game in town..are the NY Jets..possibly even more incompetent than the Giants..and I'm a New Yorker !

Saquon most likely would have had a shot at most of the NFL rushing records if he was drafted by a team that had an offensive line. With the giants he was being met in the backfield as he received the ball on many of his runs. They did seem to get some offense out of him by short out of the backfield passes where he could use his ability to make the defense miss.

Saquon.

The Giant's mistake, in hindsight, is that they chose to build around the QB with potential rather than the proven stud running back. They would have been better off signing Barkley to a long term contract rather than Jones, once again in hindsight. They rolled the dice and lost miserably. That decision set the team back years.

The problem is that Joe Schoen is an idiot for making all those terrible decisions. John Mara and the Giants Ownership are even bigger idiots for keeping Joe Schoen.

I'm not an Eagles fan either. In fact, grew up a Redskins fan. But I'm about Barkley kicking ass.

Giants are giant shmucks. Barkley has a decent chance of being the Superbowl MVP. Oh man would that be a kick in the nuts to the Giants management. It may end up right there with the Vikings trading EVERYTHING for Herschel Walker, or the Red Sox sending Babe Ruth to the Yankees...

I actually admire Mara’s loyalty versus the fire somebody every two seasons mentality like the Jets. That being said, I think the GM has more than earned his pink slip at this point.

His Loyalty should be to the Fan Base that shows up and supports the team week in and week out. Not too an incompetent idiot who is mismanaging the team to the ground.

I just wish they parted sooner.
