Anybody familiar with Los Angeles?

First time here. My wife has a conference here all week so I tagged along. Never been to the west coast. Can anybody suggest where to eat? Our hotel is right beside Staples Center. Ate at The Yard House last night. Nothing special but I was so hungry after the flight anything would've tasted good. I'm hoping for seafood or authentic Mexican next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
