Lot's of folks making Allar sound like the second coming after a series. Pribula deserves a lot more respect as I've not seen his name mentioned in any of the threads?

If we had a preseason game prior to Purdue, absolutely. Considering he is 4th on the current depth chart, no, I hope we don't get to the point we see him. If he practices his way to 2nd, sure, that would be great.

We are 1-0. We are generally still very healthy.

We don't see many kids entering the program since we don't see practices. Kids get buried all the time. You just have to trust the staff to make the right decisions.

I was shocked to hear Allar was QB2 after watching the B/W game. While he has a lot of what cannot be taught (big body, howitzer arm), he appeared overwhelmed. He apparently came a long way. And he showed good poise against Purdue.

I thought CV would be QB2 as he played pretty well last year. So my guess is that Pribula is QB4 and won't see any game time. By that, I mean, the fans won't see him at all.

If an announcer can be believed, Klatt said that he was amazed at Allar's arm strength and physical gifts at QB. At this level, physical gifts have to be there. You can't just pluck a kid off the street and make him a top QB. So coaches often go to the kid with the gifts to develop him over ones that are not gifted. Trace and SC have never had NFL-caliber arms. Wasn't something that could be developed.

22- Clifford with a sprinkle of Allar
23- Allar
24- Allar
25- Pribula
26- Pribula

Just not the way it is anymore. Pribula will enter the portal - probably won't want to wait around. Welcome to CF - 2022
In most cases I would say yes, but he has a clear path to being a 2 year starter at his dream school.....he isn't going anywhere. This is where you will see the value of an in region athlete. Smolik will be gone by then and CV will be gone after this year. Pribula will wait around for his turn.

No. I would like to Christian V as the 2nd string QB. He is much more mobile than Allar and he has a very strong arm. I really liked the way he ran the offense when he was in last year. I think he is getting screwed because Allar is the higher rated prospect. He will probably transfer and turn into another Will Levis at his new destination!

The biggest worry here is Franklin not holding a legit QB competition next spring. Franklin's demonstrated track record indicated he will pick without one that will likely force CV into the portal leaving us with Allar and maybe Prebula, who isn't suited to run this offense and hopefully keeping the kit from DeMoines in play.

Allar was named QB2 and entered the game when Clifford went to the locker room. The talk has been about making sure we have a competent QB2, especially with a QB1 with a history of missing time and playing injured at far less than his healthy capability.

Did you watch the Iowa game? Look, I like many of the things he did. I think he is talented and has many good skills but the way he ran the offense (like lining them up and snapping the ball) is down the list

Nah. I like Pribula and it sounds like the kid is a gamer, but seeing the #4 QB on the depth chart in game action is very low on the priority list for me.

Sure. Let's give each QB a quarter and go from there. (sarcasm, in case you don't get it)

At least for once you are half right. It is very likely one of the three will leave before or after spring practice......if not at the end of this season. Virtually anyone who has been watching how QBs are using the portal can figure that out. But nice try blaming Franklin in advance for the inevitable.
So out of character for you.

Not at all. I'm looking for solid offensive line play with a dominant run game. And I'm looking for Carter to make an impact.

Allar came with more stars and the staff said he won the backup position. I highly doubt we see Pribula blow his redshirt.

If Pribula plays that means Allar gets less playing time. Thus, I am not interested in seeing Pribula play.

What are the chances Clifford can make it through the year without injury?
Sadly, probably very low. This has been a big flaw for us under Franklin, our starting QBs rarely get through a full season uninjured. I suspect that, along with how poor we were last season without Clifford, could be a reason we didn't see Clifford run very much last week.
