Anyone hear from Martin's pops?

Sure he's very proud right about now. Kids tough as nails and a true freshman making finals appearance is unreal especially an upper weight.

I'll be rooting hard for Bo. But if Martin does pull off the upset, Mr Martin will be stuck in a constant trance. Smile on his face with his middle finger up to everyone

Maybe Coach Ryan knew better than him

I saw a Martin interview on Flo last night. Seemed like a good kid. Was saying he was getting beaten up pretty good in the room and didn't really believe in his own mind he was ready. He said he was also at 195lbs and once the decision was made, he had to cut hard.

Knowing this. I can't blame the dad for not wanting his son to wrestle this year. He didn't think he was ready, mentally.

Props to coach Ryan in seeing and believing in the kid as obviously it worked out

He was right about mymar and snyder for sure. Hunter god love him had his body fail him.

I can see why Darth ryan pulled the moves he did and went all in.

Pops Martin probably already has his middle finger in the air......he just didn't type about it.......yet

I've got no problem with a dad being proud of his kid - just don't run down other kids in the process. That's what he's guilty of. Hope he learned his lesson

There are studies done that say this country is #1 in the world at believing we are #1.

When we get told we aren't we remain #1 in saying that the studies are flawed.

Mr Martin is similar in this.

It's a product of giving every kid a trophy in my mind.

In Texas they call affluenza. ....

I believe Bo will again beat Martin, but this kid is a great wrestler. I had only watched him against Bo previously. I'm guessing he moves to 184 next year and BJO to 174? Martin is the real deal even though his dad is somewhat a tool.

His dad is his dad. I'm sure he expresses his feelings about how & what his dad does & says. That being said, his dad is just a very, very proud father who wants the best for his kid. His methods & ways are flawed but at the end of the day don't we all do & say things we regret over time? I for one wish I could change a lot of things after the fact. I'm sure he does too...

yea, I never saw anything after the big10's... regardless, if your kid is in the arena, you should stay out of it.
