Anyone know how to get this obnoxious "Unread posts" box from taking up the right side of my screen?

I used Ad Blocker plus and then clicked on the box and told the blocker to block it.
However, I cannot get rid of the rivals video.

I agree it is obnoxious. It detracts from the purpose of a discussion board.

I've never had issues deleting the videos. I use adguard and adblock

For me, it was the AdBlock plugin to my browser. It made it disappear, but I didn't get the space back, as my profile information is displayed above it and I don't want to delete that. I never got anything useful from the unread posts on the right, as they always point to the pay board.
