On a private island. Has a glass elevator and chandeliers, marble countertops, and plenty of panoramic windows where you can confirm that the sun also rises over the surrounding lake. There's an outdoor pool, a small movie theater and bar, and a weight room and sauna, along with five bedrooms and nine full bathrooms. All this for the $15 million plus annual property taxes of just over $71,000.

I live about half a mile away on the same Lake (Minnetonka), but a different bay.

My wife and I know the owners pretty well - been there for parties. It’s insane. The owner, Kam Talebi is part owner of a restaurant group. They did very well for the past 20 years when Minneapolis was booming. Between Covid and the rioting chasing business and workers away from downtown, they took a beating this past year and a half. I’m not sure if the sale is related to the industry trouble, we weren’t comfortable asking.

Greg Norman finally sold his Jup Island home a couple of months ago for $55M & bought a $12M house at Old Palm down in PBG. I think he also sold his Colorado ranch for $40M.

Does it have a distillery? Because I would have to pickle myself drinking here.

if they built a bridge for visitors to access the property, why do they come back into the garage? would have assumed a property like this might have built a visitors parking lot or garage separate from the property. see one of the posters has been there, so it probably is easier than it sounds.

why the F would you want an 8-car garage, that used to be known as a junkyard.
I seriously doubt these folks have a slew of rusted out 1974 Pintos piled up in there.

A very wealthy guy/PhD/business owner not too far from me has a 12 car underground garage, and nothing in that garage is less than $100k MSRP. If I had that kind of money, I would do the same thing. Take the elevator from the bedroom level straight down to the garage and head out for the day.

Plus, looking at the property, by having an underground garage, they were able to maximize the fooprint of the living area within the confines of the island/property. All in all, a smart move.

Cant' speak to the price but $71k/year in property taxes sounds like a hell of a bargain on a $15M property, especially if the comparison is to New Jersey or Massachusetts.
