AP by voter - aka why we need to win big

The only thing that matters is to be in the final 4 at end of season (not not AP or Coaches). To do that, Penn State must win against OSU, and then still have to play a ranked MSU and then rematch with Wisconsin in the B10 title game.

Georgia and Bama will be determined on the field in the SEC title game, but possible both make final 4.

That leaves TCU and Miami as possible undefeated, but Miami has to get by ND and VT as well as Clemson in the ACC championship unless NC State is for real.

TCU still has OK on their schedule and a hot Iowa State.

ND is lurking with a close loss to GA, but still have Miami and Stanford.

Lots of football left for a team to drop a game. The good news is that if PSU wins on Saturday, they should be able to drop a game as long as they win the B10. Who else will have two wins over top 5 opponents?

The Media is setting up the SEC getting two teams in...that's the narrative they are pushing, esp if gerogia beats bama. That's why they are pushing the PAC out and are getting ready to push out TCU if they lose at all. It'll be UGA, Bama, then two of ND, an ACC school, and a BIG school (they want it to be OSU)

SIAP, but has anyone mentioned the only team affiliated with 3 AP voters?

Teams that have one are lucky. Teams with two are really lucky, and very few. Only one has 3...

EDIT: Just noticed Syracuse has 3 as well.

UGA and Bama aren't on regular schedule. Unless Bama loses close on a freak play of a super-exciting (and well-viewed) game and all others' resumes really take a beating, it will be really hard to reward a team with a playoff spot just after they lose. Kinda like the UF-FSU rematch (GULP).

Maybe. I'm not as sure of it as you are. I'd put them at 40-45% (max), which is still darned good.

I would take Ohio State over Wisconsin. Wisconsin’s schedule is a cake walk. Until there is another team in the Big 10 West that can field even a half decent team, you can pencil Wisconsin into the championship game for the foreseeable future.

Utah St, Fla Atl, BYU (down year), NW, Purdue, Neb, MD, Ill, Iowa, Mich and Minnesota. Unless Mich cleans it up and wins the next few games, Wisconsin will not play a ranked team until the championship game.

Certainly possible, but would depend on how any number of other games go. It's still way to early to make any sort of prediction like this.

No, it wouldn't matter at all what any other games do. There is No Way a one loss Bama team and an undefeated Georgia team would not be in the playoff. If you add ND winning out that would be the media's wet dream.

Win and this concern will take care of itself. PSU is in control of their own destiny right now, which is exactly what we want.

Agree. Wisky's schedule is a joke, even though they had no idea they scheduled what is perhaps the worst BYU team. But being in the B1G West, and not playing PSU and OSU, your OOC has to be better than that.

Columbus? Can’t read it even with the enlargement.
