Sport, I have zero say in what Penn State does with their millions. I wish we had someone in the AD office who asked hard questions before writing checks as though the guy is elite. He is handsomely compensated now and deserves a raise once he earns it based on the kind of metrics I outlined. My last word on it, promise.

C'mon - no one said Franklin was going to USC. What people, myself included, said was that USC is a tempting job with lots of built in advantages and that someone like Franklin or Meyer would probably kill it there. Penn State is also a top job with many of the same benefits and if Franklin were to leave, it would be because of money, or more probably, a desire to change his lifestyle. Let's be happy he's staying, shall we?

That is why some people need to learn to enjoy years like this one. Franklin is a perfect fit for PSU and he is going to do everything possible to get us to that level, but he is fighting against exactly that.

Penn State has many fans that are straight garbage.
I like Franklin and hope he is the coach at PSU for a long time. He seems like a good man and is a great recruiter. That said, for the money he makes, I wish he was actually a better football coach. I don't think it's too much to ask that a $5M+ coach not get out coached most weeks and struggle more often than not, against teams with similar talent levels. I'm not suggesting he be fired or wish that he leave, but I can always dream. Call me crazy.
