Gavin reportedly making big moves:

Interviewing Leen and Churella for the top assistant job. Unless Gavin hires both guys, Headlee could stay as the 2nd assistant. Kocher is out.

Also reportedly interviewing Mocco for Volunteer Assistant -- which indicates Gavin is serious about upgrading to an RTC.

Got to hand it to Gavin for making the best of the situation given to him.

Arms race is a little strong for what's expected from Pitt right now. Improvement, then building on that, is what they will be going for, imo. With a fertile recruiting area, the right coach, and the right administration, no reason this can't happen. Time will tell about the "right coach" and the "right administration", everyone deserves a chance.
