Pretty sure I just heard fighter jets blowing past my building in preparation for tomorrows's event.

Either that or a few dragons. Or nukes.

Amazing.

One of the few genuine college football games left at the Div 1 level. Two teams steeped in tradition, and not one player will go to the NFL. They are committed to being warriors in defense of the Constitution. They don't dance in the end zone, they absolutely attend classes, and they sing each others' alma mater together at the end of the game.

Add Air Force Academy to the mix, and you have genuine college football.

There will be plyers go to the NFL
Yeah. That’s coming. But I wholeheartedly agree with @BrucePa and I don’t see the showboating and thuggery ever becoming an issue. At least not on a comparable scale.

In another life when going out and partying on weekend nights, the nights of the army-navy game weekend always had a special vibe. Sure, there was lots more competition for chats with gals in the bars, but the general absence of jerkiness was notable.

Just a reminder....Air Force is 37-16-1 against Army and 30-22 against Navy all time. Just saying....

I am one of the lucky ones who saw the light before it was too late and switched from the Army to the Air Force. While I sincerely appreciate the time I spent in the Army, did a lot of awesome things and (mostly) enjoyed my time in that service branch, the transition to the Air Force side has been Heaven on Earth.

Regardless, in this game I pull for my fellow Ground Pounders.

GO ARMY!!! :D :D :D

Go Navy!

This is one of my favorite games every year. These young men play for the love of the sport.

Everyone has to go once. Great event.
Kills me that it is practically in my back yard and I have never had the chance to go. Maybe when my little guy grows up a little more. Always pull for the service academies. I have always been an Army man. I don’t think this year’s version will go well for my side.

And the two state troopers leading Army out into the field.....RIDICULOUS!

(WHY does every team in CFB need state troopers as bodyguards for head coaches?)

Army - Navy certainly doesn’t need ‘em!

REAL student-athletes vs REAL student-athletes.

Rooting for Navy, but just hoping for a well-played game, no injuries and no goats (except the Navy goat)!

Why does this matter to you? Local and state law enforcement officials still have jurisdiction despite there being a football game between two service academies. It’s not like military personal at the game came with their M-16’s.

I bet the Secret Service officers were packin'.

Why is this game always played on land? Every other year it should be on the deck of a carrier at sea in at least moderate seas.

Why couldn’t the troopers quietly walk to the sideline. Sprinting out with the first Army players out of the tunnel is just completely asinine attention.

And again, why does seemingly every CFB coach need to be accompanied by two state troopers in every game, home or away? Is that a new NCAA rule? (Sarcasm intended.)

Oh, but you forgot, for michigan and Illinois bad wins or even bad losses disappear like a fart in the wind.
