Body suit article is interesting (although I could never imagine a Rambler wearing something designed by a Farmer :D) . Seriously though, I would think the big issue here would be the suit making the wrestler overly hot, but maybe it is made of the "cool wicking" fabrics that have been developed recently.

Did you read the article?

"The fabric is breathable and designed to wick moisture from the body, like performance garments made by Nike, Under Armour and other manufacturers."

Yea, saw that - more wondering how effective they are (i.e., if they really are as cool as wrestling in a singlet - just doesn't seem possible as they also have to be substantial enough to keep bacteria out).

my take is that the suit doesn't use bulk or heft to keep out bacteria. It anticipates that the bacteria will get on the suit -- it will just fight the bacteria before it takes root on the wrestler.

From the article:
"When worn, the suit covers all but the hands, feet and head of a wrestler, with the rest of the body protected by the fabric itself and by antimicrobial agents woven in during the manufacturing process."

I don't think keeping bacteria out has anything to do with how substantial the garment is, because a separate layer isn't needed. It's just a matter of chemically bonding the anti-microbial agent to the clothing.
