Auburn game 7:30 start, Whiteout time

Just announced as a 7:30 start.

Probably will be the white out.

Probably not College Game Day though, Alabama plays at Florida that day as well.
Alabama might not be the choice because they are the choice all of the time, but it is in Florida. Will we be ranked? Will Auburn be ranked? Maybe not seen as a big game by the rest of the country.

ABC's sports division is merged into ESPN, so they just might be here.

Now let's get everyone vaccinated and have a full house. Let's show these SEC boys what it's like to play in a White-Out! Hopefully we can turn Noah C loose on them.
or just say you are vaccinated and have a full house.

No way they would pass up Alabama at Florida 3rd week of the season. Psu-auburn is a medium interest game for the rest of the country
I would argue that Florida and Alabama is a medium interest game for the rest of the country.

Every Big Ten fan and every SEC fan whose team is not playing in that time slot will be watching.

Very few outside of the SEC care about UF vs UA.

Alabama? The single most dominant program in major college sports? Defending their title in the Swamp against a Florida team that will be borderline top-10?

Yeah, I'd say that's the game of the week.

This debate probably needs to wait until after we travel to Wisconsin. Win that game, and we're in business. Lose it, and this game may feature a pair of unranked teams.

Just too early to say.

A white out elevates the national interest in this game. It’s unique and the country is lusting after a return to an exciting football atmosphere after all of the asterisk season games. I’m hoping this game makes a statement that college football is back and that the pandemic is behind us. Fans who had to take a year off will be ready to pack the place and be part of a great milestone event.

While I agree with the idea you have here, check out week #1 slate of games on the network.....pretty darn strong.

Auburn coming to Penn State will be exciting but not like the Alabama vs Florida Game.

I see Game Day being at Florida, then Herbie jumping on a plane to meet Fowler in Happy Valley to call the game.

All things being equal I have to imagine Bama/Florida would get gameday before PSU/Auburn since both those teams will probably be ranked higher than us or Auburn.

But I'm not sure if Gameday would have already done a Bama game by then. They play Miami week 1 while Georgia and Clemson play that same week. Not sure what other games are scheduled for week 1 but they wouldn't do an Alabama game 2x in the first 3 weeks.

My guess:

Week 1: Georgia-Clemson
Week 2: Oregon @ Ohio State
Week 3: Alabama @ Florida
Week 4: Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin (if Wisconsin beats us). Otherwise, WV @ Oklahoma?
Week 5: Auburn @ LSU (if Auburn beats us). Otherwise, Cincinnati @ ND (if ND beats Wisconsin)

Beyond that, just depends on who happens to be good. Too hard to project out beyond the first few weeks.

More likely a stripe-out.....?

White out for either IU or UM.
Maybe 2 white outs? The original full stadium white out was an early season game against Notre Dame. We are not locked to only doing UM/OSU... IU for a white out is a freaking joke

Who thinks UF gets built up to falter? They are replacing their QB, TE, a slew of WRs. Sure, Saban replaces a lot, but when does he not?

As for our game, a win against Wisconsin is a must or we aren't even in the GameDay hosting conversation.

Two good ol boys swam into the sea,
The bravest of the two he swam very very deep,
Along come LJ Jr.- he said hey play a tad,
Don't do it Larry boy - his d a d d y might get mad.

I actually like the idea of Whiteout for Auburn but not Michigan. It’ll actually really piss off the Wolverine fans to not be considered the biggest game on our home schedule

Agree on both fronts. They'll lose to Bama, Georgia, and possibly @ LSU. But still, a 9-3 type of team in the SEC is nothing to sneeze at. Mullen has been recruiting very well, so he has new talent to plug in. Not like Bama, but good enough.

Still, they should be near top-10 when Bama comes to town.

And yes, all this talk about hosting Gameday becomes moot if we don't beat Wisconsin. That's a tougher game than Auburn.
