Saw it last night. Where do they go from here after THAT ending? My son and I have some thoughts.
Completely agree. Also, the post-credit scene reveals some help on the way. (A look at the list of upcoming Marvel movies confirms this.)Dr. Strange holds the key.
Curious, in what way? Obviously he gave the stone up and saved Stark because he saw that in the one successful outcome when viewing the future.Dr. Strange holds the key.
Awesome movie overall. Havent heard anything yet about next Avengers movie but seems pretty clear that brie Larson will be in it. Only thing i didnt like about Infinity War was how they portrayed Hulk. He was never like that in the comics.

I think they may have done this so that Mark Ruffalo could actually get screen time. When he's the Hulk it's just CGI using his likeness. Unlike the other Avengers his characters is played by CGI most of the time.
I believe Hulk has gone through different iterations in the comics from being nothing more than a raging Hulk to a sentient Hulk able to interact with people.
But again, Hulks unwillingness to come out I think was nothing more than Mark Ruffalo wanting to be in the movie more.
Thanos' gauntlet looks to be banged up pretty good. There was a second gauntlet on Nidavellir I think that plays a big role. The Avengers get that second gauntlet, get the stones from a "vulnerable" Thanos (his gauntlet is damaged), undue the finger snap.Well, many of the characters who ceased to exist at the end have upcoming movies in the MCU so they come back somehow. Not to spoil anything for the next movie, but you don't have to know anything about the next movie to know they can't kill characters who have movies taking place after the Infinity War.
I absolutely loved the movie, but I'm not a fan of Dues Ex Machina.
And then Howard topped it off with a three-way with Squirrel Girl and Paste Pot Pete. Excelsior!what shocked me the most?
Howard the Duck killing Thanos with the Ultimate Nullifier

He can call himself the Trapster, but he'll always be Paste Pot Pete to me.oh lawdy, thanks for the laugh and the obscure call back:
He travelled into the future to see all the possible outcomes. There was only one outcome where they won. He told Stark that giving up the stone was the only way. So, I guess the only way to defeat Thanos was for Thanos to think he won? Kinda think about it. If Star Lord doesn't get Thanos angry, they might have removed his glove and won. If Thor had chopped off his head, they would have won. Shouldn't the Doctor have seen three possible ways to defeat Thanos? I guess you could argue that the Doctor saw these missed opportunities and thus they failed in those scenarios.Curious, in what way? I don't really get Thanos' motivation. His back story makes sense. In order to save his planet from overpopulation, he proposes to kill off have the population but they act or don't act on it, and the planet dies. He then believes it is his destiny to kill off half the population of all planets, and then he can rest? Doesn't seem to make sense as the population would just grow again. Why half? And why does he think every planet is overpopulated? I expect part of Thanos' story in the next film will be about what he had to give up to get all of the stones. He gets buyers remorse? The dude who was the gatekeeper of the soul stone also holds the key or at least what he says.
There was a lot of good humor in the movie. The spider man Star Lord interactions were pretty funny. And Dave Batista gets all the best lines.
I thought it wasn't about giving up the gem, but saving Stark. They kept hammering home how much Strange didn't care about Tony, then all of a sudden he gives up the gem to save him, because he plays a key role in stopping Thanos? Maybe that was part of getting RDJ to stay on as iron man for so many years... give his character the big scene?
I assume that the one way Dr. Strange sees them defeating Thanos involves Ironman. That's why Strange saves him despite previously stating that no one man is worth saving.I thought it wasn't about giving up the gem, but saving Stark. This is interesting. If they bring them back, then don't they also have bring Thanos's gang back too?so all right.....who is really dead?
Heimdall
Loki
Vision ?
I swear I saw a kitchen sink flying thru the air near the end.

Shot at same time. Release I believe is May 2019. Capt. Marvel to come out in March. Backstory movie bf shows up in the Avengers.I hope, and assume, they filmed the followup at the same time as this one.
So there shouldnt be so long a wait.
Besides...some of those actors are looking a little long in the tooth.
Even Scarlett is showing some age.
(Showing it well, mind you).

Haven’t seen the movie yet so I skipped the discussion, but this movie made $250 million in its opening weekend in the US and $630 million worldwide, and that doesn’t include China where it hasn’t opened yet. Are we going to see the first movie to approach 2 billion? It’s already on its way to 1 billion after ONE weekend.

Edit: Apparently Avatar, The Force Awakens, and Titanic have already made over 2 billion. I think they’re the only three to do so during their theatrical release.
You do recognize that the movie ticket price has doubled in the last 20 years. So every year, the ticket prices are going up therefore they typically can make more money. Not saying it wasn't a huge opening, but has to be taken into account. Also much larger worldwide distributions, more movie theatres who will put the big movies on multiple screens in the same theatre, etc...30 years ago you maybe had the movie showing in one theatre with one showing at 6PM and another at 8:30PM and that was all. Now the local theatre by my house has it on three screens so it is shown like every hour from noon through midnight.
